film: freddy vs. jason

...don't forget Leatherface...
though my heart is torn between Ash and Michael Myers if such a battle was to ensue...

Ash is just hearsay, newline is starting to churn out idea's thats all but the likely that one won't happen cause you would have to go thru sam raimi cause thats his baby and also bruce cambell but in move logics it wouldn't make much sense, I like ash and everything but the man is mortal, he couldn't put up that much of a fight, micheal myers maybe but again that franchise belongs to another company, chucky is a DOLL, I could see that, he would be on jason's leg, jason's just looks down and kicks him away, leatherface would be cool but technically leatherface is just human as well, to be honest they should just leave it on how ended. granted with it coming in at number one with 36.4 million means MORE will happen which I'll gladly go see but the way it ended was justice for fans of either series freddy got his and jason got his as well. If anything they should just go ahead with the freddy prequel. but if we wanna see crazy matchup's I say lets bring them all in for a battle royale winner takes all.

Yah....let them all meet each other, cuss each other out and proceed to fuck each other up.... Detroit Rock City style....i guess :|

The movie was good, good as an action movie too in a way and it was definately better than Jason X. I heard that they were pitching around the idea of doing a sequel with Jason vs Freddy vs Ash(from evil dead). I'm sure it is just rumors and I hope so because that would be completely retarded if they tried something like that.

SPOILER!!!SPOILER!!!!SPOILER!!!!

SPOILER!!! SPOILER!!!!

If you enjoy, vicariously, seeing some little trendy raveritos getting slashed horribly to flamey, squichy, glowstick shedding bits this movie is for you.

As someone who has always truly loved cheesy horror this movie was definetly a complete and wonderful success. I spent almost the entire movie giggling, or actually lauging out loud...which may have disturbed the other few folks in there with me, because they weren't laughing.

It was just incredible. If you love cheap slasher style horror, or hate (well, at least want to horribly butcher;)) the trendy ravers (think glowstick holsters...8() this movie is for you.

M

^^^ cant really call that above post a about the ravers getting killed a spoiler since everyone watching the flick pretty much knew that was what was bound to happen.

great flick. I enjoyed it alot. Im glad I got to the theatre early since every damn seat was full. It was a nice crazy crowd.
They had enough tits and ass in this movie to make even a non horror fan appreciate it. First tits within the first 2 minutes of the movie!!!!!

^ you are, like everybody here, entitled to your opinion but we have a saying here in V&PA (at least i do): play the ball, not the player.

there's no "you people" here.

thank you

...Its something called "entertainment" you should look into.

Thought this movie was fun and would love to see one with the presence of Ash (Evil Dead) would be more fun hehe I will admit that the amount of efforts towards sequels sometimes are awful though this did not disappoint me surprisingly.

your enititled to your view [X] but have you seen the film?? when we praise we are not praising it for its great acting or moving story line, we know this one isn't gonna win any oscars but it should:D we just love it cause its a great cheeseball movie, not every movie has to change the way you look at life or move you to tears in a warm fuzzy way, sometimes we just wanna sit back for 90 minutes and not think, cause we want this doesn't make us idiots or anything just means we work hard all week and for 90 minutes we wanna sit back and watch a movie that makes us feel like children of the 80's again, thats all this movie means to me. taking me back to a day when I always pictured these 2 fighting it out in the school yard, I'm not griping or complaining I knew this wasn't everyone's cup o tea going but don't bash over the head cause we like a movie, thats all I ask

that sounds like the kind of thing that a high school counsellor or a motivational speaker would say.

thank you very much for the compliment. :)

didn't mean to offend

meaning to offend and actually being offensive are two different things. it is quite possible to be offensive without meaning it - net effect. think about it?

elsewhere in this forum:

a user called [X] implores people to have fun - lighten up a bit, if you will. might i suggest you consider his advice?

[X] its cool, I agree with you, espically on adaptation, but to me, when I watched this movie, just made me into a little 10 year old again, all giddy and happy cause I have always wanted to watch these 2 fight, again its cool, this isn't everyones cup of tea, but I would argue movies like xXx or those fast and furious movies are doing way more harm than this movie, granted those sequel rumors with ash from evil dead in the mix is just plain dumb, anyway its all good from my stand point

Just because the popularity of a low-quality overly cliched horror film (i love a lot of horror, btw) that was clearly designed to make some quick cash makes me sick

have you seen freddy vs. jason?

in your various posts you have used, among others, the following adjectives: quality; bullshit; good; with substance; ; crap; worthy; great; mediocre

these are all value judgements - your crap movie is somebody else's quality movie. a movie "clearly designed to make some quick cash" in your eyes, can have artistic merit for somebody else.

no right. no wrong. just difference of opinion. you make aggresive statements about your right to voice an opinion. great.

please step back and recognise that people who enjoy what you consider to be crap, bullhit, mediocre movies also have a right to voice their opinion and their opinion is worth exactly as much as your opinion. no more. no less.

if we can agree on the above, we'll all get on famously.

how does that mean I don't have fun?

i was referring to your abrasive tone in the forum.

Horror fan or not, I don't believe that movies should be judged according to how much tits and ass is shown because that's completely irrelevent and doesn't really show that's it's a movie worth watching. I'm a fan of the original Freddy movies by Wes Craven (1&3) and I really don't appreciate what they did to the character, by slowly changing him from a conceptually sound horror villain to a comical, bumbling clown-like idiot who retorts pathetic one liners along the lines of an action hero type character.

When films like Adaptation go largely unappreciated by the masses (this forum isn't a representation OF the masses, I respect a lot of your opinions more than Random Joe), I hear people discussing films like American Pie and XXX and... Freddy vs Jason.

I think this comment has validity. Just look at the forum. The Punch Drunk Love thread has 220 or so views while this thread has over 370.

That is wrong no matter which way you look at it.

I think art must have some merit to be described so.

to some of the contributors in this forum who have seen the movie, it does have merit. so, by your own criteria, that makes it art (whether you agree or not) :)

art is whatever i say it is. convenient? maybe. true? i believe so.

souny, have you seen freddy vs. jason?

"Be more open minded, people"

i think that applies here. i note that you used a smiley which suggests that you were being sarcastic bu ti think many a true word is spoken in jest.
