(film) Eragon

Yup.

Looks like they did it.

I didn't even know.

The first book was rather... slow. It's hard creating a whole new universe and making us care about these characters (and remember their names), and it took me FOREVER to care about Eragon.

Alas, I'll probably go see the movie.

Eragon

The Trailer

It's handled by first-time director Stefen Fangmeier, who's done some 'second-unit' stuff (which is basically directing) and alot of visual effects directing. So, I imagine he'll do okay, provided he can pay attention to the actually ACTING. The movie isn't as 'greenscreen' as one might think, so at least everyone has real things and people and scenery to interact with.

Dec 15th, supposedly.

Lame movie.

Terrible acting, terrible writing, terrible pacing, terrible plotting, terrible casting, terrible characters, terrible names (blame the source material for that one). I mean really... Galbatorix? Sounds like a Hungarian prostitute vomiting.

A very few decent parts here and there, but overall it was shit. It might be OK for some mindless entertainment if you're drunk, but what really irked me was that it had the potential to be a lot better. Is it really wise to give a first time director control of a 100 million dollar project? Shouldn't you try breaking him in on something a little more modest?

I'm so tired of this stupid formula where a whiny, rebellious teen boy is thrust into the role of epic hero so he can fulfill his destiny. Yeah, it worked in Star Wars, but sword and sorcery is a lot more compelling when you've got some badass motherfucker that just goes around killing the shit out of people instead of some punk ass emo bitch. Not to mention it was like a double failure in this movie because the casting was so bad.

It's only a slight step up from the Dungeons and Dragons movie starring Marlon Wayans.

i bought a copy dvd for 100 bahts ($2) and felt i had been robbed
i prefered to throw it in the trash can than give it to someone and make him lose 2hs of his life

and i'm the D&D fan kind of person

i didn't bother watching it. my kids and hubby said it was really lame. not good at all. cheesy, bad dialogue, bad acting. bad all around.

Me as well, but this was one godawful, terrible movie. I was expecting something a bit more, but as usual, it was utter bollocks.

I hate the cocky, arrogant pricks who are the lead characters in these type of movies - "Stormbreaker" being another exactly the same style of story, but worlds apart when it comes to setting.

I think it sends out the wrong kind of message that it's cool to disobey your elders & walk with an arrogant swagger & still be a hero regardless. :\

Complete wank, so avoid at all costs. I don't think, I know you have better things to do. :D

I watched it in the the theaters, and I loved it... the story moved pretty fast, but I kind of enjoyed that, the special effects were really great, and the main character fit into the character pretty well, had that "innocent" look:)

I've seen some of it and from what I have seen it wasn't that bad. I never read the book though, but was it better than the movie or not?

not really.

the book's kinda whatever, too.

there's no depth to the story or the universe

harry potter has more depth than this series.
