*one awesome movie that revoluntionlized the surf film genre
any surfer loves this movie, but thats obvious by watching it. great movie even if its not your thing.
i didnt know any of the technical facts behind this movie and now that i have heard from filmer/director/traveler/editor/narrator and saw what he had to work with to make this film classic i have a new respect for one of my old favorites.
having only brown's voice narrarating leaves so much to the imagination... you used your own mind to hear the roar of the surf, especially the big wave big gun shots in hawaii, you make your own descions on how the crazy characters they meet along should sound... something that is not found in movies now
and then brown went on to switch sports and make another difinitive sport move 'on any sunday' (motorcross)
