I've been longing to see this since i heard about it a year ago. It finally hit australia, so i rushed out today post gym visit, and am rather disappointed.

imdb's blurb states: "The true story of a man who posed as director Stanley Kubrick during the production of Kubrick's last film, Eyes Wide Shut, despite knowing very little about his work and looking nothing like him."

What i thought would be an interesting tale of someone posing at Stanley Kubrick on and around the set, turns out to be about a sad, lost con artist, lying with every breath he can muster, which, alone, does not interest me that much.
The quirkiness and novelty of having a bloated and infantile John Malkovich telling everybody that would listen that he is Stanley Kubrick gets old really fast, and i would say that that is basically 75% of the film.
With the soundtrack from many of Kubrick's films, and an obvious A Clockwork Orange plot parody, it is a little fun, but it's just not enough.

Apart from the soundtrack and the ACO-ish plot, there is little to do with Stanley Kubrick in this. Just some lines which include film titles.
