pearl jam - man of the hour

good song

i didnt think it was too sentimental, i actually thought that tim burton did a great job of reducing the sappiness of the story, which could have ruined it if done by another director.

I thought it was less about the father/son relationship than just being an excuse to tell an off the wall and original fairy tale.

ewan mcgregor was great too.

one of the few "uplifting" movies i found to be uplifting and not just incredibly corny. and actually that means alot coming from a person like me.

Poll : BIGFISH

um...please poll?

I saw Bigfish on DVD last week and i was thoroughly entertained and satisfied...no surprise since im a fan of most everything Burtonesque (yes, he earned that adjective btw.)

Your thoughts?

:D

I saw this and thought it was touching. Didn't Burton do this as a tribute to his Dad or something?

In any case, the story was unique and the characters were interesting. I liked it. :)

IMO, burton can't make an uninteresting movie. I enjoyed it, it was very original, creative, and entertaining.

I have to get that book! After watching this...i told myself, dayum, i think id wanna live in a circus for maybe a year or so. LOL.

Oh boy i loved this movie. Just one massive story. Was truely amazing. When i get some money im buying the DVD for sure :)

I am so mad about this movie! It was great, but I was so tired I fell asleep right before the end. We ordered in PPV, so when I when to watch it the next night, I started it where I left off, and it ended on me just as he was in the river with his dad. GRRRR!!!!!!!!!

LOL dont worry at least you can always watch it again on DVD when you get the chance! its so worth it to get ur own copy =D
Truly magical..... so many favorite scenes and dialogues and Burton was as usual FANTASTIC in putting al the elements together into a visually arresting whole.

<3

I saw this at the movies and went away kind of dissapointed. :\

I went in w/ no knowledge of the movie except that it was directed by Tim Burton and that everyone was saying it was "great." I like Tim Burton for all of his wierdness and kind of had that mindset going in and was a bit offput by its sap. I left the movie theater remindeed of Forest Gump for some reason, which was not the sort of movie I was in the mood for.

So yeah, I gave it two stars. It might have more to do with my mood at the time than the movie itself though.

hmm, i swear there was already a thread for this.

anyway, i really enjoyed this film - burton was at his typical fairytale-esque best with this, and his love of stories shines through. he's got to be one of the best going around still.

i enjoyed all the performances too, particularly macgregor's. all in all a very good film, even though i was kind of worried that it might suck (looked a little too schmaltzy, i thought, but it turned out that burton tread the line very carefully).

I saw this again. for the 5th time on HBO. GAWD I love it

Sandra Templeton i love you and i WILL marry you!

Ewan mc Gregor is such a good actor...he can do the southern accent so well considering he's freakin IRISH .

I've enjoyed this the few times I've gotten to see it. I would have no problems watching it again.
