Undoubtedly the best thing Christopher Walken has been in for at least six years. It's good to see him in a relatively serious dramatic role. He's been mostly hiring himself out as a novelty and appearing as a ridiculous charicature of himself for the past ten years (with a few notable exceptions). Though his decline isn't as embarrasing as Robert Deniro's (in Meet the Parents and Analyze This), it has frustrated me to see him recurring as meaningless cartoonish characters with big glasses and funny haircuts.

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen this (it came out in '04), but those who haven't should definitely check it out... especially if you're a fan of Walken.

It isn't an extraordinary film. There are no explosions or cheap gags. Just well defined characters and strong performances. It reminds me a bit of Diamonds mixed with Little Miss Sunshine.

It had me close to tears. Although that could be because I am in the middle of a mental breakdown. It's hard to tell.
