What a crock of shit! That movie wasnt even worth the bandwidth it took to download!

first up, i was a little high when i watched this and second, i'm not at all familiar with this story in other formats.

i enjoyed it immensely - the plot was a little predicatable but, for me, it was all about the visual spectacle. this movie was so lush to look at.

alasdair

I recently picked up the complete collection of the animated series on DVD (despite having downloaded most already). Alasdairm, i can't recommend them enough.

Beautiful film. Really stunning visually -- sort of reminded me of The Cell. Lush and vibrant.

The fight scenes/action were excellent. Plot was solid, storyline was intriguing.

I liked Trevor's character alot. I was unfamilar with the storyline prior to watching.

I give it 3/4 stars. The real flaw in the film, for me, was the lack of emotional impact. I'm not seen anything else with Theron, so I can't say if it's acting or direction. But the film felt flat emotionally. I didn't particularly care about the characters or what happened to them.

I find this to a be a typical problem with otherwise solid sci fi-action films -- they focus so much effort on the visuals and action scenes, and a fascinating storyline, that they forget the human-emotional aspects of the film. In AF, they jumped too quickly into action without establishign Aeon's character first. A shame.

That is an AWESOME comparison.

The Cell is another movie which for me, I am in awe of its aesthetic appeal and the concepts behind it, but I think would have been a way better movie if they'd forgotten the lowest common denominator and not been scared to lose a few people along the way. I don't mind being lost so much as long as the ideas and the style keeps me entertained.

I would have given Aeon Flux 3 out of 4 stars because I was loving it right up until the final bit where she brings down the big dirigible thing....I don't know why, but that sequence had some of the cheesiest special effects I have ever seen, especially when the rest of the movie was of such high calibre visually.

lol...that big dirigible thing aka the flying liver thing? =D
I caught this on cable the past week...I was entertained at the very least and I loved the effects. 3 stars.

i am not too picky with movies, this is one of the few i couldn't even sit through. very boring. eye candy only.

this can only be redeemed if they follow up with a more authentic aeon flux film.

authentic to the poetry and ambiguity of the animated series.
