So I took 30mg insufflated last night with virtually no tolerance. Really enjoyed myself, however I have a few questions about the experience.

1) I couldn't sleep after coming down from the drug. Even 4-5 hours after taking I couldn't fall asleep. I'd get close to falling asleep, only to suddenly have a 'thought zap' waking me up/disturbing me. It wasn't like any normal insomnia though, in that it wasn't a 'bad experience'. I was still feeling pretty good and enjoying myself. Despite really wanting to go to sleep. Is there anything I can do avoid this inability to sleep? If I was to take orally rather than snort it, would this help? I understand it would last longer effects wise, but would the more gradual transition make sleep easier?

2) Kinda related to the last question........despite not being able to sleep a few hours after the peak, during the actual peak, 15-45mins after inssuflation, I really, really wanted to drop off and sleep. However as it was my first time taking such a dose, I was scared to go to sleep in case I never woke up! I was pretty damn high, and had gone pretty white, so at the time I thought it was a safe idea to force myself to stay awake. The contrast between this feeling and the inability to get to sleep an hour later was stark. Was I right in forcing myself to stay awake?

3) Like I said I was pretty damn high off 30mg at once, however if I wanted to enjoy a movie whilst on this drug I think I'd have to take a lower dose, as I was in no state to concentrate last night. Would taking a lower dose just to watch a movie be a waste of the drug? And would taking orally be a waste of the most efficient high? Or would taking say 20mg orally to watch a film be a good idea?

4) Finally, during the period I couldn't sleep my stomach was making some really weird gurgling noises every few minutes. Is this normal with oxy?

1. taking it orally or snorting wont change. ive had bad sleeping problems with opiates.
2. well if you fell asleep you wouldnt die but youd miss out on the great experience

3. well considering you took 30mg with no tolerance yes you can take less and still feel good because 30mg is A LOT for someone with no tolerance.
question 4. um maybe you were hungry and your somach was growling? i doubt it had something to do with oxy.

With no tolerance, 10-15mg would be perfect. Even with my current tolerance, I do about 15mg at a time (daily dose ~45-60).

Doing it too late at night is certainly a way to not be able to fall asleep, especially as an inexperienced user.

Oxycodone actually has a higher BA when swallowed than snorted (oral: 60-87%, nasal: 55-70% absorption)

1) depending on what time you wanna go to sleep I would recommend giving yourself 5 hours, usually after 5 hours I can sleep just fine.

2) Like the other guy said why fall asleep during the peak and waste your high!? Stay awake!

3) 30mg insufflated is a good bit for having no tolerance. I'd Try 15mg.

4) I don't really think with oxy would cause your stomach to do this, perhaps something else you ate? or didn't eat?

I find opiates to be more of a "diet aid" (in the sense that it prevents hunger) than amphetamines in me. I'm happier to have a sandwich on speed than percocet by far. Percocet I just want to clean the garage / work on a car...

Agreed. Stick to oral with oxycodone.

The stimulation, nodding, insomnia and light stomach issues are all quite common side effects, though.

Thank you all for the replies.

I was going to give it another go tonight. But considering how tired I am after not sleeping last night, I've decided to leave it. Will probably be next weekend before I try again, which is probably a good thing.

I'll try just 20 orally I think. And hopefully enjoy a film. I'll dose earlier on in the night also, and hope to get some sleep later.

1. You were likely experiencing noddy-insomnia, not uncommnon with opiates at all.
2. You likely had the urge to succumb to the nod, that is what would have likely happened. You could have fallen asleep, but my guess is that you would have ended up nodding.
3. Taking a lower dose is fine, esp. if you want to be able to retain more consciousness.
4. I think your stomach was just being weird, nothing to worry about. Opiates do slow down GI motility and encourage constipation, but I don't know if that would have had anything to do with it.
