Festivals 2014

Peepz like me....? No need to be a twat about it, i mean it isnt like i apologised or anything....

No really, we pushed you aside to a whole new forum...

it's closed now, so feel free to clog up the generic shitey chat

someone bring the events forum back....

or maybe send these posts to AD+SD

I'm confused as to why you're annoyed. Surely this thread is taking up even less space than an actual subforum for events. The posts are being put into a single thread that shouldn't really affect you if you decide to ignore it.

Just because you don't actually go to events doesn't mean you need to be a cunt about it, raas. There's nothing wrong with this thread. :p

Ah, you've met raas, best just ignore him, 'tis nothing personal. Nice to see another Manc around, anyway! :)

going to a nice little psy/dub/reggae/ska type festival in pure magical leprechan country, west of Cork. Last year was brilliant!!

What's it called?

I'm up in the north and I'd love to go to more festivals but I don't really know about many and the ones I do tend to be in other countries like England, which means it'll cost me a lot more. :/

jakeh its called dream gathering. I hear sunflower has turned to shite the past year. enforcing stupid drinking rules and increasing ticket prices.

Alcohol

Weekend campers, may bring their own alcohol for consumption throughout the entire site (with the exception of the Kidz Zone). Each adult weekend camper may bring with them a maximum limit of 36 cans of beer/cider OR 2 litres of wine OR 1 litre of spirits. This BYO alcohol will only be admitted upon initial entry to the festival site when you receive your wristbands so please make sure you bring your own alcohol with you in the first run from the car park. Remember…No Glass permitted. You will have to decant. Security personnel at the entrance gate will be checking that the alcohol limits and glass policies are adhered to. Please be patient.

See what i mean? goes against what the fest was all about in the first place which is.. freeeedoooom! ticket prices are a tad steep too. You should try n get to dream gathering, might not be your scene so to speak but the great people, vibes, cheap ticket prices etc make up for it for sure. You can bring drink from the carpark whenever you need too so you wouldn't have to worry about your lovely home brew getting warm ;)

Zoo Project festival had those rules last year. Although there was no limit on the amount of times you could go out & come back with supplies. We took in a bottle of spirits and 36 cans each on the first day, then got a bus into the nearest town the next day and got the same. Anyone that drove just did a few trips back to the car. I reckon it was to stop people bringing in enough to sell cans around the camp site. If you can only bring one lot in for the full weekend though, that's simply to rip you off with their drink prices.

Just looked it up, about £60 for a ticket. Is it usually a good weekend, definitely considering going.

Also, what's it like for drugs there (not sourcing). Common place or is it likely to be frowned on by people? I know festivals don't need drugs or anything to have a good time, but it sure would add to the experience if other people were doing it there.

i drive to the festivals and have a few cooler boxes in the car, keep[s the drink n food nice n cold plus safer than leaving in a tent. plus the festivals i go to dont have these bullshit rules.

when they have these rules on alcohol the security are always searching folk and pissing people off.

yeah secret garden party had a similar policy, but no hard spirits at all if i remember, just like 20 odd cans each.

few of our mates signed up for the workers bands, as it actually ended up being cheaper than a ticket then just fucked it off when they got in there, but it allowed us to get all "supplies" on-site the day before it opened and they had time to set up any security.

to sneak booze into festival though ive used this trick before

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmY5uN18SaU

only takes about 5 mins and you have a completely sealed bottle full of booze, works every time.

Also doing gottwood festival this year i think. its a small one in the woods of north wales, near the sea also.
