Since tickets are already being sold and plans are already being made, I thought I'd start a Festivals 2011 Thread.

Anyone got any plans already?

On my radar

Two day dance music festival in East Germany.
This year saw Underworld, Faithless, Sven Vaeth, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Hawtin as Plastikman on the main stage
And the cream of german techno, minimal and underground music dotted around in various tents.
The event runs through the night, and most stages close between 9am and midday. Its on a lake (which you can swim in) and has a boat that does round trips from a little beach area. With DJs banging it out on the boat. There are some smaller stages in the camping and in the main arena that stay open later but people head back to camping in the day some also bring their own mini sound systems and set up little stages themselves. You have to be really tired to get to sleep tbh.
Didnt seem particularly very druggy but has a reputation for being so, didnt see drugs being sold anywhere. Youd have to bring your own, you wont be offered, I didnt need to look for them.
It rained really heavily this year for the weeks leading up to it, and on the first day but noone let it dampen their spirits, Its almost exclusively German, never met anyone else from britain, the germans go a bit bonkers at this one, very funny people, the atmosphere is fantastic and it's very friendly though it feels more like a two day rave than a glastonbury type festival - only electronic music played here.
Ticket: 85 Euros

Nature One

Another two day event.
At the site an old NATO missile base, in really beautiful countryside.
The main stages were dedicated to trance and hard techno, there were minimal and house stages here. The sound quality from every one was amazing. They have smaller tents and stages coming from everywhere, top techno institutions like Tunnel, Tresor and Abstract host their own stages throughout the weekend there are at least 15 stages pumping out music in the main arenas.
The druggiest festival I was at this year, most people were off their trolley.
No chance of sleep at the this one, there are official stages banging out really loud techno in the camping areas as well as quite of lot of crews who never leave the camping and pump out tunes all day and night.
Its run by ID&T so attracts a lot of Dutchies so lots of opportunity to get stuff here. 70 Euros.

Three day festival at Ferropolis not too far from Berlin in East Germany.
This year was hot and sunny, another festival based around a lake so you can go swimming during the day.
Quite a chilled affair on the campsites, very friendly people and no aggro at all.
Its quite an international crowd with thousands coming over from Holland, Britain and Ireland.
Drugs were not particularly easy to come by, but it was possible to get them.
Its on the site of a museum of gigantic mining machines, superstructures, and they are used to great effect as the darkness takes hold, they are used for lighting and laser effects, its all pretty impressive, the arenas are concrete so even if it did rain you wouldnt be dancing on mud. The stages are quite close together so its not hard work going from stage to stage.
The music is mainly electronic with a few dedicated techno stages, the main stage is more eclectic, playing some indie bands along with the DJs and live electronic music artists.
They had a panarama bar/berghain stage outside the main arena with the cream of minimal djs playing.
The prices inside werent particularly cheap, but there is a little shop in the local town which isnt too far.
It quite slick and well organised but not too commercial.
Tickets: 85 Euros

Fusion

Will be new for me next year, but comes highly recommended from everyone who has been. Definitely on the cards. Quite a diverse range of music played and very druggy.

Circle of Love!

A one day thing in the NordRhein Westfalen region of Germany, moves from place to place each year. Very small affair, superb line-up of top quality mainly German DJs (Kalkbrenner, Klock and Dettman, Robag Wrume, Oliver Koletski Lexy and K Paul) and a really friendly up for it mixed crowd. Its a quality affair.

I'm aiming to do a german road trip in April. First stop will be a day at the nurburgring, then a day or two in Frankfurt taking in cocoon club. Finishing off with Time Warp over the weekend.
I would of done trance energy again but I can see this years event being a total flop, so I have dashed that off.

I like the look of Nature one. What airport would I need to fly into?

All those festivals you mentioned sound pretty cool. I'd like to do a big euro festival trip one summer. Only European festival I've attended is Spirit of Bourgas in Bulgaria in it's opening year but it's not incredible by any means.

Koln, dusseldorf, dortmund all within a one hour / two hour train ride away from nature one.

thinking of freekuency festival in portugal next year with a few bl buds maybe bangface weekender, glade if it resurrects and definitely boomtown fair :)

I'd love to do Nature one - looks epic!
Also not going to be doing Trance Energy (or whatever it's been renamed as!) 2011 :-(

I've got the exact same plan. Stalker.

Hmmm... festivals....
Well... gotta stay in England. But simply jump at the chance to go to any at all.
Apart from Banbury Folk Festival!! hahaha
Went to that at the weekend..... oh... so lame. But I wasn't really expecting hardcore raving... just some fat bearded guy ssinging shanties.

I wanna go to SGP. Never been before. I HAVE to go next year. Hopefully will have a job next year so major saving will happen. (Might be working in a poetry cafe!!!)

This is the time of year when the festis feel so far away. Why doesn't life have a fast forawrd button? Much rather be muntered in a marquee than writing fucking philosophy essays... :|

Fusion sold out in two hours, the Chems and Moby are playing SMS.
The thought of doing my twirling goon dance in a field full of nutters off my twat on acid is the only thing that keeps me going through the bleak freezing midwinter

i want to go to burning man again next year but dont think ill be going, unfortunately.

Glasto for the first and probably last time, will go beathereder the week after deffos and probably some european festivals as well.

fucksake glade's moved and is now the same weekend as freekuency
got glade tix already though :D

Got tickets for glasto but just found out my mate is getting married that weekend. What a cunt.

My wish list is:

Timewarp
Block Weekend
Awakenings Festival
Exit
Life Festival
Sond Mond Sterne
Glade
