pretty cool idea, though this has been the "impromptu" policy at many events in my area in the northeast nj/ny at festivals/concerts/football games here at stadiums and arts centers by security and usually state police basically look the other way unless its so much that stadium security alerts tehm or for some reason they decide to turn you over to the cops, the main reason they claim to search is for people smuggling extra booze in but we all know they are lookin for drugs.
i cant believe that they only do random searches at alot of these parties, here they search EVERYONE..
also happens alot at popular night clubs/afterhorus in nyc and nj... though in nj security is usually alot stricter with the drugs and will quite often turn anyone into the cops that has even been found with personal use qty... i guess due to the pressure from most local governments looking for anyway to shut down nightclubs that play techno/house music that is notorious for being associated with drug use and considered "drug dens" when things get out of control and 75% of teh crowd is sitting there gnawing their lips witha water bottle in hand and eyes bugged out or rollin back in their head.
nyc afterhours clubs were notoriously corrupt, although this happens at some nj clubs too, in nyc they extensively search each person, and the security will sieze any and all drugs they find on people, except for their friends and a select group of people they might be getting paid off by to be "house dealer"...
back when agood friend had an arrangement with a couple of bouncers at tunnel in nyc, the bouncers didnt even search our crew, well tehy did but they'd pat us down with pockets full of pills and jars and let us through, and then through the course of the night they would cruise by our regular spot and sell us ANYTHING they caught people doing that night, yayo bags, K jars, pills etc... anything they found they sold to us for 5 bucks each!!
aside from some really uptight fuckers or if ther was alot of police pressure on the club recently, any siezed drugs were basically kept by security and resold to friends/biz associates in the club at a discount... or OCCASIONALLY even given back.
one time i went into sound factory and my girl had 6 pills she insisted she coudl bring in her bra... anyways they found them, and then the head bouncer took us outside and counted the pills and said "6 pills, thats alot for a lil girl like you" but i followed them outside and told him they were for me... anyway he said "where are you parked?? aroudn the block?? ok why dont you guys take a walk back to your car, put some of them back in the car and then come back clean"... it was pretty cool.
another time my boy got caught bringing in 100 pills or so, they found them, banned him from there for a few weeks, and gave him back all his pills, save for maybe 5 or 10 that they kept as a nice bouncer fee.
so while this stuff DOES happen regularly at most events tightly related to rampant drug use, its nice to know that its an official policy at the door as opposed to rolling the dice and never knowing if they may just turn you over to the cops on a bad day.
worst comes to worse if your smugglign shit in your shoes or something and the bouncers ask you to take your shoes off or if you don thave your shit hid well assuming you wont be searched and they pull you off to search you, you can tell them you aint takin off your shoes or letting anyone grab your nuts, and simply choose not to go in.
they arent the police and you simply agree to be searched to go in its not a "terry stop" by teh police or anything. one of my lawyer buddies who was friends with the owner of SF made a fuss when they asked im to take off his shoes and went on and on about how they already searched him and he isnt standin on that nasty floor without his shoes and they ended up letting him in whitout the shoe search
