I know a lot of us are interested in the EDM scene and I wanted to make a post about the best psychedelic for EDM/music festivals. Particularly for festivals I think there are certain criteria to consider. First of all nature of the trip, I believe a smoother, euphoric and gentle psychedelic provides the perfect mental state to experience these events as much as possible. Second, the duration. Festivals can go on for over 10 hours and even days at a time. Redosing becomes annoying and the redosing itself causes tolerance to start building fast. Because of this I believe longer lasting chemicals do a better job. Finally we need to take into account the impact this chemical has on our body. Its going to be several days of it and a harsh chemical will leave you destroyed afterwards. Included in this category is the ability to sleep on it or on the comedown so you get the rest you need for the days to come.
Ive tried a couple psychedellics including 4-ho-met, 5-meo-dalt, MDMA (psychedelic enough for concerts and festivals), mxe, 6-apb, MDAI, Methylone, DOC, LSD, 25i, Mushrooms and a couple others.
Out of these DOC is my clear option after having used it for the last Basslights. DOCs trip is extremely gentle on the mind. You feel clear headed yet everything is morfing around you. I thought LSD was the perfect festival compound until i realized I could have all of its benefits without the confusion and distraction that it can bring. DOC allows me to do whatever i want and add a trippy/funny/euphoric edge to it. Hell I was even able to find my own way back to the hotel even though my ride left me when we had problems finding each other outside.
As far as duration goes...holy crap! We took 6mg (which turned out to be a bit much even though I took a test dose of 1.5mg 2 days before and it felt extremely mild) at 4:30pm and the trippy visuals and funny thoughts didn't go away until 1pm the next day. This was a bit odd for basslights since it only lasts 6 hours but we decided to after party since the trip was gonna continue. Also on the duration topic, DOC didn't only last 19 hours but it also was extremely steady, at about 9pm we hit the plateau and it stayed at the same intensity until about 7am the next morning with a really gentle comedown that lasted about 5 hours. This trait makes it very useful for festivals because you don't even have to worry about losing intensity for a while.
Finally the after effects were non existent. The day after we felt extremely tired because we decided to keep partying instead of sleeping but as soon as we got sleep we woke up perfectly fine, not even any confusion, mental exhaustion or anything to speak of. The one thing I have to say about DOC is that it is a bit vasoconstrictive above 5mg. One of my friends tried it at 4mg and had no issues with that but my 6mg did make my arms feel a bit cold during the come up. Other than that DOC provided an experience comparable to candy flippin without any of the sides i dont like about LSD (confusion, head loops, etc..) or MDMA (mental strain, ridiculous body temperature and muscle cramps). If I was to do DOC for 3 days of music I would probably stick to 4-5mg doses and time them to make sure i get some sleep, since its all I needed to be ready to go.
Bonus: You can actually sleep, eat, fuck and pretty much anything ud like to be able to do there on DOC just fine which is crucial if you are going to be trippin pretty much every waking hour in the festival. It also mixes really well with other compounds like 4-ho-met, 4fa, MDAI, 6-apb to add particular effects to different parts of your experience as long as you keep the doses low on the extra compounds.
The only thing I would change about it is the dosage that I took. Im pretty sure my comfortable levels are under 5mg and perhaps a 3mg dose followed by a 2mg second dose 2h later might make my come up less vasoconstrictive.

. I walked into the trip expecting energy, euphoria, and music appreciation and got none of that. As surprising as it may sound it was actually kind of sedating. I had plans to go to a party that night but after ingesting a little over 3mgs of DOC I didn't even want to go, music sounded boring, the body aspect was nonexistant, and there was no headspace just insane visuals. It felt as hollow as 2c-c, just lasting 20 hours. For festivals/parties I find aMT, MDA/MDMA, x-APB, 2c-i, 5-meo-dipt, low dose LSD, low dose 2c-e, or even ketamine better party drugs but that's just me. I think a 6-apb+2c combo would be perfect for festivals given the long duration, great euphoria and music appreciation, and psychedelia depending on the 2c dose. The visuals were very intense and pretty though but that's all it offered for me. How was it combined with 6-apb? I wanted to combine it with 5-apb but was worried about possible vasoconstriction and HR issues.
