I normally get fentanyl in patches with gel in them this is just a plastic sheet can u even take these orally?

There are plenty of threads on these patches. Polymer matrix patches tend to work very poorly if you try to take a piece of a patch and use it bucally or in any way in your mouth. The safest way to use any fentanyl patch is to wear it transdermally as indicated obviously. You can apply heat or take a hot bath to speed up the release (I'm assuming you understand the dangers in doing that and that you need to be very careful and have a high tolerance to opioids to use fentanyl at all, but especially if you are going to use it other than as directed).
