Heya, welcome to BDD.
Fentanyl, like most opioids, can be abused but as TLB said it is very dangerous. It's extremely potent, and patches contain a lot of fentanyl - your patch is designed to release 50mcg/hr for 72 hours, and has some extra too. The total amount of fentanyl should be somewhere on the patch. Your options for abusing it are fairly limited, depend on the type of patch (gel reservoir or plastic matrix) and are very risky.
As a chronic pain patient too, abusing your meds is a slippery slope.. I don't want to preach at all, but if you are already getting into trouble for abusing your meds, what would happen if they cut you off and you couldn't get opioids prescribed at all? Or if you pushed your tolerance too high?
Many people don't find fentanyl hugely euphoric, either. It is good for pain though as it delivers a steady supply constantly into your bloodstream, avoiding the peaks and troughs that comes with taking tablets. Apart from that, people's responses vary - some find one opioid has better analgesia, others prefer a different one. This is something to work out with your doctor.
