My pain doctor put me on the patch about 2 years ago. I'm on 50mcg every 3 days. I don't abuse this med and it's the best control of my pain I've had in 15 years. My husband mentioned to me that it's because it's close to morphine. Well I became worried after he said that and started researching the med and ...wow.
I seem to metabolize it quicker some days qucket than others and I feel like crap! ! My legs jerk, I'm ill, my body temp is so cold. Its like I can't function. I mentioned this to my doctor and he doesn't seem to care.
I guess my question is, has anyone came off on their own? Would that be safe to do? I also have lortab 10 for breakthrough pain (2 a day but i only take these on the 3rd day of the patch) and i take one 0.5 xanax at night to sleep.
I have a husband, 3 kids, work 2 jobs (1 job is only part time...8 hours a month) and go to college (better late than never) I don't have time to be sick. Addiction runs in my family and I've made it my life goal to be a better mom than I had, now i find that just bc i did what the doctor said and I could possibly be addicted to this med. Should I be worried? Also, if I drink 1 mixed drink now it's like it puts me in a comatose state! Is that bc of the patch? ? Advice?? Thanks!
