so today I got a different brand, I used to get the activis gel patches and now the pharmacy is going to carry the sandoz patches. I was wondering, if I was to cut the patch in half would it distribute about half of the medication per half or does cutting the patch A. destroy the time release and nothing gets released or B. destroy the time release and all of the medication releases @ once. (i am asking cuz I lose some of them even the same day i wear them due to swimming or showering or just a sweaty day. Also I hear of some ppl putting them over there heart so if I am a women would it work if I put it on my breast. I hear it kicks in faster and stronger that way and i feel just awful i need something to make it seep out a little more than it normally does. and I know it doesnt sound like a good idea but ppl say on here and other sites that they do it all the time.

thank you so much for your time!

I heard the inside of the thigh up by your groin is a good spot, and apparently applying as hot of heat as you can stand while wearing it helps. so like a heat pad ontop of the patch on your skin is supposed to speed up the process a little.

not a 100% sure but since its a time matrix release and not a gel i would say it will release like normal just half the dose so if its 100mcg an hour it is 50mcg

correct? so dont quote me.

sandoz does have a resivoir, if it was mylans u could do that but with sandoz its gonna cause it all to come out at once. I think I would just try thr inner thigh or heating it up method. Not a doc but I do have some of the sandoz patches and if u look at em and squish em around , u can definitely see the gel inside the resivoir.

With the duragesic patches there was no gel at all. Nothing. It was like a one of those breath things by Listerine.

You could cut one of these in half and have it be only 50mcg's an hr, I cut one in half and tested it actually.

Works well.

If its the non-gel Matrix formulation (just like a nicotine patch/thin film of plastic), then the Fent and glue is mixed and spread evenly across the patch upon time of manufacture. I have cut my Non - gel Matrix (25mgs) patch in half to taper on numerous occasions and had no issues.

However as a disclaimer and all that, I must not recommend this to anyone but only share my experience.

Piece of mind not abuse !!!

With any of the non gel patches you can cut them up.
I put a 1/4 of a 100mcg patch in my mouth with the adhesive side towards my cheek. Within 10 minuets, full relief is achieved. I wait for a total of 15 min, then remove the piece and store it glue side up in an air tight container.
Four to five hours later I repeat this method. This piece will produce good effects for about 20 hours (4 times 15 min intervals@ 5hrs.)leaving me three more parts over the next 50-60 hours, for a total of 60-80 hours.

The moist environment and high concentration of blood flow near the cheek surface attribute to the quick onset of the relief.
I have read chewing the patch and swallowing the saliva will waist the drug. Passing through the digestive system breaks down the fentanyl to 30 percent of the intended strength.
Keeping to a strict regiment is important, It is very easy to raise your tolerance if you do not pace yourself.
The benefit: the instant pain relief and euphoric piece of mind that is achieved.

Then why do I keep reading and hearing that using matrix style patches buccally/orally just doesn't work? People are saying it's placebo but I have to disagree as someone has been using Sandoz 75mcg/h matrix style patches buccally for months.

And like ^^ you said I get plenty high, my pain is gone, and withdrawals are cured. So it can't just be placebo. I need a concrete answer on this; too much conflicting information.

Can someone please get back to me on this. I know I should really trust myself because 'I know' it has been working somewhat when used buccally but I would like someone to either disprove this our reaffirm that it does in fact work. Because if I find out that it's been all placebo (which I highly doubt it can be because i have a very large tolerance and I know the difference) I've wasted A LOT of patches that I should have just worn.

^^bump for ANYONE who can answer my question. I'm still getting great releif from using the sandoz matrix style buccally... so if anyone could confirm it works or disprove my feelings that it works that'd be great.

Anyone? PLEASE :D<3

I have heard from both doctors and pharmacists that you get the best Relief if you put the patch above your heart. it can go on your arm, back, chest, etc..
hope this helps.

Never heard of the thigh thing but it could be legit.

I've always heard the best method is putting it in your mouth on your cheek.

Hello--it surprizes me that nobody has'nt simply read the box on these new style sandoz patches--the non-gel type and seen the amount of fenti is in these. I am prescribed a 75 mcg/h patch--in which every other manufacturer of these patches have about 7.5 mg's of fenti in them. The sandoz 75's have 12.6 mg's of fenti per a 75 mcg/h patch! Thats damn near a factor of two stronger. I cut them into 5 pieces--put them on my gumline/upper lip, don't drink or smoke--eat,and just let them sit in your mouth for about 3 hrs. or so and blastoff!! If your wearing them you get the same absortion rate as the other brands. A 50 sandoz patch has 8.4 mg's of fenti in them!! It's on the patch and written on the box as well--no kidding. I have been on these things for over 10 yrs. and have tried EVERY other brand--when i read the amount of fenti in the new sandoz patches--it floored me!! BE CAREFULL--it's got to the point that i used to get a great effect cutting a Mylan 75 patch into 3 pieces--doing 1 piece approx. every 8 hrs.--and they no longer work for me--thats how strong the new sandoz patches are!! The sandoz brand also releases faster than the Mylan so try not to get alot of spit in your mouth, just let them adhere to your gumline/upper lip sticky side out of course. Just read the box if nobody believes it--i saw it immediatelly when they changed over from the gel patches. Have fun--BE CAREFULL!!

Sandoz Patches

Hi,
*snip* NO SOURCING I have been using them for almost three years and now my pharmacy will only get the WORTHLESS AND SHITTY Mylan brand. I have even followed a great write-up here on BL about extracting the raw fent from the new Matrix-style patch that you can't chew or stick under your tounge. The Mylan brand only has 10.2 Mg of Fent per patch. The Viva brand has 11.05 Mg per patch and the Sandoz has 16.8 Mg of Fent per 100mcg/h patch.
Don't ask me how the hell all three of these can still deliver an equal 100 mcg/h? All I know is the Mylan ones don't stay on very well and are only good for 24 hrs, the Viva stay stuck well and therefore worked pretty good, but the bottom line is the Sandoz really work great on pain and if you want a blast they are also great for rec puposes. I have gotten stuck now twice with the Mylan ones and I can't do it again! The w/d's from using Fent for three years is shitty I may as well be slammin H!
Sorry for the long post but if anyone in the South King County, WA area can tell me what pharmacy still carries them I would be forever greatful?
Thanks,
David
