Opioids Fentanyl Patches - safe daily dosage for someone with a tolerance (chewing)

Let me start off saying I know the dangers of messing with fentanyl patches so i'm here to get some advice.
I have a pretty good tolerance to opiates and I've used fentanyl patches before.
So you have a background of my tolerance I take anywhere from 40-80mg of hydrocodone almost daily.
Also take oxymorphone (intranasally) & fentanyl patches (chewing) every once in awhile.

Anyways like I said i've chewed patches before and I started off on low doses, now I usually chew half of a 75mcg patch at a time.
So my question is what would be a safe daily doasge?
I've never taken more then half of a 75mcg in a day and don't want to take too much of it.

Let's say I chew half a patch in the morning would it be ok to chew the other half later that evening?
(or maybe even half of a half)
Fentanyl always worries because i've heard the horror stories so it's better to be safe then sorry.

Fentanyl has a short half life, so it's probably safe to use it multiple times in a day, but that's also a way to have a crazy tolerance develop.
