First let me start by saying you have to be exteremely careful with fentanyl,especially if you aren't opioid tolerant.Without knowing your experience with and tolerance to opiates it's hard to give much good advice.It was a smart thing you did,cutting it into small sections and gradually upping the dose.Remember though,fentanyl patches are meant to release slowly over a period of 3 days so you can build up to dangerous levels by adding on sections while there is still drug being released into your system that you haven't even realised yet.With that said I do know of a couple of ways to increase the effects by making them release the drug faster.Use them at your own risk because people have died doing this.One method is to shave the area of application,even if there is no hair there.This abraids the skin and allows the drug to absorb more readily.Once applied,the application of a hair dryer to the patch or running it under hot water for a couple of minutes speeds absorbtion.Lastly,you can indeed chew on the patch or a piece of it and get more fentanyl in your system quicker.I'm assuming you have the non-gel kind or else you would most likely thought of cutting the patch open and eating small ammounts of the gel.Again,follow these tips at your own risk and be very,very careful with fentanyl.
