Fentanyl Patch, Does Taking It Off Lose Potency ?

EDIT: I also have ONE more question. I know that the patches really start to peak and level off after about 12 hours? So I am wondering , since I have multiple patches, if I take one off at night before bed or something , does it lose any of it's potency ? Like, will it still have the same amount of Fentanyl on after I take it off and put it back on in the morning?I just had a quick question.. is this a big deal if I put my fentanyl patch on and it had some sporadic tiny areas of that black/dead skin from previous application of patches?

I put it on in the car without looking and noticed that it was on that.. and I didn't know if I should take it off or what. Then I decided to try to take it offer and take the black stuff off.. but it was already stuck to the patch.

Will this make much difference at all?

ALSO... I have the Matrix patches.. is the only way to have the feelings onset faster by using heat? I generally will do that alot.. use the end of a knife or spoon.. put it over a candle flame for 5 secs.. then press down on the patch and taking the pain.. I've grown to enjoy that :P I also will use a hairdryer , but its tedious just standing there with a hairdryer on for 5 mins.

It shouldn't be.

You're playing with fire by messing with the release rate of a fentanyl patch, because it's hard to tell how much more effective it is.

^like he said that can be risky if you arent very careful

there are plenty of stories of people passing out with a hairdryer blowing on their patch and dying because of it; causing it the whole thing to release way too quick and they arent awake to stop it

I am carful, no worries.

I have , i believe, a quite high opiate tolerance. I did OC80s back when they were made, then I went to sniffing heroin (the best quality from newark/patterson in NJ) and then went on Suboxone.. and got off of suboxone with Kratom, which I believe still keeps ur opiate tolerance up since it has opioids in it?

I know what my limits are and aren't, I haven't felt noddy at all the past week I have been using them. I have atleast 150mcg or more on at once (tho some were older and some new) one day.

So I am carful and know what my limits are and how to safely use opiates without having a chance of ODing. Even with H I would do one or two bags to start and just do it throughout the day, so I don't take too much and I get high all day. I even shot it towards the end.. really wastful in my opinion after the first few times. Takes the same amount of bags or more to get a nice long high, and the only pleasureable thing was the initial rush.. after that it wasn't great. I liked sniffing much more, so it was very easy to quit both. But, as I said, I would only do 2 bags at the most if I shot it at first to see the potency.

Thanks for all the warnings and help!

No man, if you take off a patch of your skin, it won't stick again..(i mean it will stick, but not strong, and it will stick in some places, while in other it won't, leaving some kind of a "bubble", if you know what i mean, it would be like it has stick, but not in all of it's surface, leaving some spots of air, and even if you use a tegaderm (adhesive), it won't work well, cause on it's surface it will have tiny amounts of dead skin cells, dust etc. And of course, it will not be as fuckin sticky as it was the first time you put it on...

Also, keep in mind, that even if none of the above happened, you would have to wait some hours to work, as like if you'd stick a new one. So, re-stick it, IMO is not a good option..but if i HAD to do it, i would stick it and press it VERY STRONG for some minutes, (3 min, etc.), and put a clear medical adhesive tape above it (tegaderm or etc.). To have the picture, think that you've stuck the patch, and in some places it is stuck well on your skin, while in some other places it isn't, and it's like bubbles of air, that when you press them they seem to stick for a while, but a litl bit after they unbend and seem like bubbles again, so the patch lose some of it's handling, which means that it lose some of it's potency, as well..So,i know, i was boring, but i try to make it understandable, hope i did..:)Be nice and safe, buddy..%)

Well I mean, will it lose its potency or how much is left if I take it off? Just because I have one on that I keep on, so that would just be a little kick when I would take it off and put it on the next day.

What about just normal clear tape? That seems to have worked well for me before, just don't want to take them off if I lose fentanyl from it somehow

Actually it won't lose it's potency, but it won't stick as strong it stuck the first time you put it on, even if you use adhesive tape..also it's surface won't be as clear like it was in the beginning..Also, keep in mind that it'll take some time to start working...Assuming all these, it won't be as potent as it was before you take it off..but if you feel that you'll have an OD,or smth, or it's too much for you, yeah, it's better for you to take it off your skin (it's always better feeling safe than sorry, i guess..).Oh, and about the normal clear tape, use it, it's better than without tape..I hope i helped a bit..be safe..
