If I were to choose going off my fentanyl patch or going off my 30 mg oxycodone four times a day which should I pick? Which would give me the best pain relief and which would give me the most energy especially dopamine energy to get started and try to get things done. They seem to have a pain pump installed March 26th and after that they are going to start titrating my orals down while the titrate the pump up. Anybody have any experience in this? I figured the oxycodone will give me more energy as I've heard the fentanyl is more sedating. What do y'all think help me out thanks

Oxycodone has always given me energy.
I decided against fentanyl patches. I heard they aren't great. Besides I still get a mood boost, from Oxy.

I don't know how the fentanyl feels. It seems like people who use it recreationally are sedated as to where I get an energy and a mood boost, besides pain relief.

I was also on morphine 24/7 and it dulled the pain some, but no energy or mood boost.

I take it that you have very serious pain issues. I never heard of those fentanyl patches being that effective.

What is in the pump?

I don't know how your body responds to just Oxycodone. Some, don't like it. But many like me do for legit pain reasons( chronic pancreatitus) and it doesn't help as much after so many years, but it does still give me energy and a mood lift.

All people are different and I don't know if there are huge differences in the patches and what you take in terms of how much, and how the dosage would compare to the Oxycodone.( how much fentanyl is released into your body).

People using Oxy recreationally in non life threatening doses, seem to be active and social.

Fentanyl seems to put people out.

But you have to figure it out.

Have you had them separately and what was your impression if you did?
