Fentanyl + Oxycodone

If I am on Fentanyl will I still be able to get a nice, euphoric oxy buzz? If so how do I pick a safe dosage? Going to doc tomorrow to ask for some oxy for breakthrough pain. This fentanyl stuff certainly lowers the amount of pain I feel, but it's not much for acute pain. Also it's not in the least euphoric and it makes me tired all the time. Still, no other side effects after this weekend so I can't complain too much.

Anyhow: fent + oxy = euphoria??

what kind of pain are you treating, do you mind me asking? i've chronic lumbar pain (spondylolisthesis) and fentanyl worked superbly even masking neuropathic pains.

Also it's not in the least euphoric and it makes me tired all the time.

that's par for course.

can you tell us a little about your tolerance and experience with opioids? it will help give a ballpark range of where to start. i couldn't be bothered to try deduce that from your other posts.

there's HR merit in this thread but it's walking a tight line; we don't normally foster questions asking how to get high.
 
I am taking 50mcg/hour Fentanyl and previously was taking about 80mg per dose for a high, but I also found that provided adequate pain relief during my work shift when I needed it most. Sometimes I'd take 100mg.

I was up to 500mg oxy a day at one point. 5x80mg oxycontin and 5x20mg oxy-IR for breakthrough. I broke my wrist in 2010 and even after surgery to remove hardware have had chronic pain ever since. I work in a manual labor job and several times a day I lift things that cause acute breakthrough pain while on 50mcg Fentanyl.

Also, I thought the purpose of harm reduction was understanding people would use drugs to get high no matter what so we educate them so they don't die in the process. I certainly respect fent and don't wanna OD on oxy with it.
 
OK, since nobody else has any experience, I will be a guinea pig. Going PO w/ 50mg oxy-IR in combination with 50mcg/h Fentanyl. I'll let you guys know how it works out.
 
^Be patient, guilt tripping us won't get you any responses.

I remember you were slapping multiple fentanyl patches on last week trying to get euphoria out of them. I've never been unwise enough to mix in other opiates while on fentanyl, but if you're going to do it start low. I would say 20mg. Work your way up from there with plenty of interval in between.

Actually, it worked quite well! I can't remember the last time I got anything out of 50mg oxy, but the high is quite nice, without any nasty side effects other than some pretty intense drowsiness. I like my opiate buzz but I need my pain relief. For the record putting on a second fent patch was to try and get SOME result at all. It just seemed very weak to me after all I'd heard about its potency.
 
^Ah, my apologies. I'm glad it worked out for you though.

Of course, try to keep the doses of oxy as low as possible whenever possible for best results. If your tolerance gets out of hand (especially if you're in a pain management program) you are going to be getting a lot less pain relief, keep that in mind.
