Hello i have the 50 mcg / h patches produced by mallincrodk (prolly spelled that wrong) I was wondering, i did some research and it says that 50mcg/h patches are equal to around 63mg of oxycodone. Is that PER DAY? so it would be a total of around 180mg of oxy equivelent in patch total over 72 hr?. These patches have a total of 5.50mg of fentanyl.

I have yet to open one.

Also, what is the best route for quickest onset of action (besides smoking, but considering it if it delivers immediate results)?

I am a complete fent noob, but done jus bout every other drug in the book.

I have a oxy tolerance of 120mg.(if this matters, but i am reducing my tolerance every day. been clean for about 4 days now.. gonna try to go a few months before i get back into it hard)

Thank you.

Ryan

If you are trying to quit (at least for a while) and you have made it 4 days then I would stick with your plan and hold off for a few months before you try to use your patches.

That being said if you do abstain for a few months you need to be extremely careful when you start back up, especially with the fent. In fact, if I were you, I would go ahead and give the patches to someone you trust to hold for you tell you are ready to use again, then once you are ready I would suggest you take those patches and trade them for some oxy since that is what you are used to using.

After a couple of months your tolerance will have subsided significantly and trying to dose fent with very little to no tolerance, especially if you are unfamiliar with it, is going to be extremely dangerous. Even now with your oxy tolerance playing with fent could very easily lead you to an overdose and death. Fent has a very slim safety margin, meaning the difference between a good dose and an overdose is extremely small.

If after reading what I have had to say you are still determined to use the patches I would suggest that you do as much research as possible and start as small as you can. I mean take what you think is a small starting dose and then cut that dose in half. You can always take more, but with something as fast acting and powerful as fent by the time you realize you took too large of a dose it might be too late.

I also want to mention that even though they are intended to be worn on the skin I would actually suggest you not use them that way since you have no experience with them. Once you apply the patch to your skin the drug starts getting released into your subcutaneous fat where it is stored and slowly released into your blood stream from there. If you put the patch on and the effects start to feel too strong or overwhelming, just removing the patch is not going to stop you from overdosing. In fact by this time it might be too late as there will be a good amount of the drug deposited in your body that has yet to make it into your blood stream. I just don’t want you to think removing the patch is an effective means of titrating the dose as it is not.

Let me know what kind of patches you have and I can suggest some other methods of dosing if you are determined to do so.

Hope this helps.

According to the narcotics equivalency calculator, 5.5 mg of fentanyl (IV) is equivalent to around 400mg of oxycodone (oral). Fentanyl is extremely potent and can be very dangerous to someone with a small tolerance. Your tolerance is not very high in the scheme of things. Also, fentanyl is not a very euphoric opioid, so you may be disappointed with it if you are used to taking oxycodone on a regular basis.

Onand OFF made a great response and covered basically everything I wanted to say. But if you do decide to go ahead and try to use your patches now, I would suggest cutting it into like 10 pieces, and using 1 at a time, buccally (Putting it in your mouth on your cheek/gums) This way you can work your way up to a comfortable dose.

If you just slap the whole patch on, if you start to notice you are getting too high and want it to stop, you can't. Because after a number of hours there will be fent built up in yoru skin waiting to get into the bloodstream, so even if you took the patch off there will still be more fent in your body, which can be the catalyst for over dosing. Also, if you were to put it on, it takes a good 8 hours at least for it to reach maximum absorbtion rate

366mg Oxycodone is what the equivalency is... (350-400 is a range I'd guess up)

Fentanyl isn't very recreational... and it's VERY easy to overdose on without tolerance

All I could say is... listen to BrokedownPalace
