Fentanyl First time user advice

I have some Fentanyl 100mcg/hr Durogesic Dtrans patches which im told contain 16.8mg of fentanyl.

Oxycontin (OC) is my drug of choice, usually 160mg crushed and chopped into a fine powder and then swallowed get me where i need to be.

How would the Fentanyl compare? in effect? doseage? ROA? ive been advised to either wear it as a patch or cut up in to pieces and chew.

Basically im aware this can be an extremely dangerous drug so i dont want to end up OD'ing or worse so any helpful informative advice would be much appreciated.

Well, if I remember right, 160mg of oxycodone = 0.8mg fentanyl. I'm not entirely sure though, so don't try anything stupid.

Please don't listen to the poster above me there's no harm reduction in telling some1 to "just smoke it"(without extrapolating) I honestly don't believe you will feel shit if you wear it you've got a pretty decent tolerance. If it is adhesive patch (no gel) i would chop it into pieces and cheek it. If you feel you are getting too strong a dose, take them out immediately, be extra careful with this stuff man. The amount you have in that one patch is pretty huge. Now if it's gel maybe consider smoking it after you've read how to do so in the forums (there's a thread about it).

alright, lately ive been messing around with fent patches the 100mcg kind also. just get a pair of sissors or a knife and cut it into seven strips. take 2 of the strips since you said 160mg of oxy is your regular dose if you feel you need more cut little pieces off another strip untill you feel good. it should take 15-20 min to kick in if you chew it any more questions feel free to ask.

Just be really, really careful with fentanyl. Wearing patches makes me extremely nervous, as you can't titrate your dose at all and it takes a long time for the fentanyl to have reached a steady level in your blood, and chewing them is also difficult to titrate unless you use really small pieces - and obviously the fent is released over a smaller space of time so your blood-levels will be much higher. Starting small is definitely the way forward. I'm really glad you are aware of the OD potential and are treating it with respect - has caught out too many people..

well sir, I'm not quite sure what you are wanting to know so heres some random facts about using fentanyl recreationally

using it not as prescribed may cause you to end up with blue lips and no pulse - just a warning

it has a VERY short half life, thus being addicted to it sucks because each fix only lasts like an hour.

if you smoke the gel in the duragesic patches, start out with about 'O' that much maybe ( ) that much, but make sure to LET IT DRY OUT before smoking it, it makes a huge difference. let it smoke slowly too, doing it too fast will just burn it up

I cut up my Fentanyl patches, washed down my underarm real well and stuck them there. Never thought about cheeking them or smoking them. I just know I had a nice steady high for a bit.

The danger of doing that is that the patch releases the fentanyl into your subcutaneous fat, which then slowly releases it over time. If you misjudged your calculations and the effects started to become too strong, just taking the patch off won't necessarily help, hence the high potential for overdose.

The other thing people fail to take into consideration as that a 100mcg patch means 100mcg per hour for 72 hours. I know it was mentioned in the OP that a 100mcg patch contains a lot more than 100mcg of fent, but if you are cutting bits off and calculating according to your tolerance to other opioids, it is really important to remember this.

fentanyl isn't such a recreational drug in my opinion. it's pure sedation and not much else and with very little room for error. definitely not something to be toyed with for those with little to not tolerance and who haven't done their homework.

tramsdermal fent has a BA (bioavailability) of 30 percent and makes it really tricky titrating your dose as effie alluded to, and some will inevitably be lost through oral consumption (50% BA). the safest way ime is to use bucally (under your tongue/on your cheek). the effects comes on within 20-30mins and peak around an hour so it would be best to cheek them for half an hour at a time to gauge where you're at and continue from there.

alternatively if you're still getting the gel reservoir patches then smoking them is the easiest and safest way to tritrate but they're no longer manufactured, having been replaced with the polymer matrix patches.

I got IV fentanyl once when I went in to the hospital after dislocating my shoulder. Opiate naive. Oh boy, that was one of the most intense/pleasurable drug experiences I've had. No idea what dosage they gave me. Very brief experience. Overall this is a pretty pointless message for an advice thread, but I'm stoned. Click!

WHATEVER you do. Be safe, and have a friend with you. Fentanyl is a really dangerous drug, and not recreational in my opinion. Even people using it for pain management have died. You're playing russian roulette. I have a 100mcg patch myself right now. Infact the same one you have. The one thing about fent is when you stick it on your body it takes quite a while to kick in and work. It also will make you incredably tired. You do not want to fall asleep with it on if it's making you that tired. Often times for some people it's not euphoric and just makes them tired.. then they don't wake up. This happened to a friend of mine a few months ago. She fell asleep with a half of a patch in her mouth. All I can tell you is if you must use it be careful. Pay attention to how you're feeling, your pulse and I don't reccomend sleeping on it. Good luck.

If you're using it to not be sick, sell/trade it and get some oxy. You'll be safer that way.
