Hello everyone.
For the past 6 years i have been taking opiate medications for pain due to injuries. For about 4 months now I have been taking the Fentanyl 50 mcg/hr patch (however before that have taken oxy's, methadone, morphine, dilaudid, etc and now have ended up on fentanyl 50's with oxy IR 60mg/day for BT pain).
I am about to go into opiate withdrawal very soon (in about 12 hours i think), not sure when exactly which is why i am posting. I hope someone out there can provide me some info about jumping off of fentanyl and when their clonidine patch fully set in. Over the course of about a month, I've been cutting the mylan fentanyl patch from 50 mcg, 25, 12.5 to 6 mcg and now have jumped off.
I have read that the body continues to absorb the Fentanyl medication into the CNS system for about 7-10 hours after removal of the patch and then after that time, no more medication is felt. And that its half life is about 13-22 hours, however in an unusable form. Is that right? is the half life form of a medication non-active and would it at that point make me feel that all the medication is out of my body, even if there are non active forms (half-life forms) of it in me? I don't even know if i said that right.
Also, I have read different reviews regarding adderall usage while W/D from opiates especially while using clonidine. On paper, clonidine seems to do the opposite of adderall so i hope the two dont counter each other. Nonetheless, i have heard that fentanyl is a ************* to withdrawal from.
Advise would be great.
