Female Action Heroes

I just watched "Salt" tonite, the 2010 movie with Angelina Jolie as the titular character, billed as "the ultimate female action hero."
This reminded me of some news comments about the new movie "Wonder Woman" starring Gal Gadot, which claimed that it was about time to get a female action hero.

Of course the action hero nerds immediately posted pix of Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in "Alien" from 1979+.

The aforementioned Angelina Jolie was also in the 2001 & 2003 movies "Lara Croft Tomb Raider."
And, even tho it starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, the female action hero in the 1984 "Terminator" was Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner.

This made me think of all the female action heroes I have in my DVD collection:
Elektra (2005) Jennifer Garner
Cat Woman (2004) Halle Berry
Underworld (series 2003+) Kate Beckensale as Selene

Lucy (2014) Scarlett Johansson
(Who is also quite commanding as Natasha Romanov/Black Widow in "Avengers")
Ghost in the Shell (2017) Scarlett Johansson
2017 Ghost in the Shell Major Mira Killian
Aeon Flux (2005) Charlize Theron (Who will be in "Atomic Blond" later this month)
Also, tho she was not the main character in "Mad Max Fury Road" (2015) she was quite the badass one-armed female action hero.

Divergent (series 2014+) Shailene Woodley as Tris
Colombiana (2011) Zoe Saldana
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Rooney Mara
Gravity (2013) Sandra Bullock
And, not in my collection - couldn't handle ANOTHER dystopian future movie
"The Hunger Games" (series 2008+) Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen
