Out of curiosity does anyone know of any Rx I can suggest to my Dr for dealing with heavy cravings?
Used to be a very heavy user of multiple substances, off Methadone finally and my Clonazapam script is up to 8mg a day which is stupid because I've been on it so long it takes 14mg to do what 2mg used to do. It worked for a while but I obviously have developed a tolerance to it.
The worst cravings are for heavy uppers and heavy downers, hallucinogens I don't see as a problem as long as moderation is used.
I've tried every SSRI and SNRI there is but they don't work for me, I think it's because I'm not "depressed", I know that I feel shitty when things are shitty because they are well, shitty. However the cravings can get intense even though I've been clean a long long time. However 17+ years of extreme drug abuse has obviously altered my state of mind.
I eat well and excercise, so that's not enough and while I know there will always be cravings, this intensity level is high and so I'm thinking I need to ask; have any of you tried anything via an addictions specialist that I can suggest to my Dr that's been treating me for 6+ years.
