Hi everybody, I've been reading for awhile and the other day I made my first posts. Figured why be shy and introduce myself to the group. I love experimenting with different altered states for about 30 years. I do not drink, as I do not like the feeling that much. I'm an occasional smoker, and I definitely support legalization for both medical and recreational purposes because I have some friends who are heavy smokers and they have full, productive lives. Plus I read research when I can and it seems there is pretty solid evidence in its efficacy in certain medical treatments. I love opiates right now, but struggling with using and recovery like most people who use them. I don't do them every day, but I am habituated to kratom, which I do not consider a "real" opiate. 8( I'll be seeking support for that in the near future! I 'm a recoverED meth addict, and happy to have escaped the birth of crystal - probably would be the death of me. When I did it the main ingrediant was P2P for those of you who know, and the making and distributing was cornered by the biker group The Pagans. I remember cutting lines on a plate that left holes in it! What really brought me to Bluelight? I can't exactly remember, but I think it was in a search engine while I was reading about MDNA as treatment for PTSD in veterans. Of all the mind altering substances, I believe the hallucinogens have such potential to change people's lives While I quit like 25 years ago and have not experienced the new empathic ones, I continue to believe in their ability to open minds, given proper supervision, set and setting. I tripped hundreds of times, and only the last one was REALLY bad. I have seen some posts of people trying to recover from bad trips, and should a current one emerge I hope to be able to offer assistance and support. I consider them to be some type of spiritual emergency. I have also had many spirurtual/existential crises since then as now my main DOC is yoga, meditation, and mantra. Yes, I have a habit, but I try my best to stay connected. I have attended AA and NA for some long periods of time and remained abstinent from all drugs. Currently I am researching alternatives for staying clean. BL seems like the best support community I've come across, and I have seriously LOL reading many of the forums. Yes, I'm long winded, but happy to be here!

Thanks, it was really hard. I was a kid when I got on it, like 14 and I was alone in that no one else my age did as much as me every day. I spent adolescence and some of my early adulthood wanting to die. I have gotten down since then, but not like that.
