Hell yeah, tonight's the night! Fedor is my favorite fighter, I can't wait to see him whip that big bastard Brett's ass. At 30-1, Fedor hasn't lost in 9 years. His only "loss" was not by submission or knock out - a doctor stopped the fight because he had a cut above his eye.

I'm glad to see Strikeforce ponying up a free MMA fight on prime time CBS. I think it's great for the sport, and, great for the American public to see Fedor outside of youtube highlight clips. Brock Lesnar better be nervous, Fedor is no joke.

From a recent SI.com interview Rogers had this to say:
"He's definitely a different fighter," said Rogers of the heavyweight champion, who will put his legacy and nine-year unbeaten streak on the line Saturday on CBS (9 p.m. ET/PT). "I look into his eyes and I see nothing. I don't see if he's serious. I don't see if he's trying to be funny. I can't sense anything from him. A lot of people say, 'Don't pay attention to his demeanor because it will psyche you out.' It's true. I feel that."

i hope it's not the same announcers who did the CBS shit before. they were HORRIBLE.

i might flip this on from time to time (got a hockey game to watch tonight), because a.) i'm sure fedor will destroy and b.) a dude i work with is supposedly going to the fight and sitting 4 rows from the cage.
 
Fedor fucked his shit up second round.. Just one hit and Rogers dropped like a baby... Lol I love it... Next I get to watch my boy Griffin fuck up tito ortiz :)

man... rodgers wasn't a very good sport about it. :D

now i'm not saying you have suck his dick when the fight's over, but you have to at least admit he beat you, you didn't just beat yourself.

i'd like to see griffin beat tito, too, btw.
 
^ I think so.. It looked crooked and he couldnt breathe out of his nose.. if it was just cut he should have been able to breathe through it... either way I love Fedor and I agree Rogers was a poor sport. I hope they do have a rematch and this one Fedor kills him the first round
 
i actually thought his nose looked crooked going into the fight, but there's no doubt it was cut deep and he was breathing through his mouth. i figured maybe it was so that he didn't draw his blood up his nose and into his nasal passage/throat.

i'd dig a rematch for sure.
 
rogers got jipped...the fight was stopped to quick...just b/c you get dropped doesnt mean you stop the fight...big john didnt even let dude defend himself, he just stopped the fight...i mean maybe he should have stopped it eventually with a few more punches when rogers was on the ground but not that quick...you can tell after the fight rogers wasnt hurt from that shit..ill admit dude was sore loser though either way
 
Yeah, I think at least a few more seconds would have been good. It was a hell of a punch, I agree, but he didn't stop defending himself or anything after he fell...
 
though while they were interviewing fedor rodgers repeatedly said "i fucked up." if he believed he got screwed, with the tude that he had, i see him putting up more of an argument. he got dropped like a sack of potatoes and didn't look too good. he may not have been hurt per say, but he lost his ability to intelligently defend himself and had big john allowed that to continue... he WOULD have been hurt real bad.

edit: after reading bollweevil's post... maybe i'll have to watch again, but the way i remember it (and i'm not saying i'm right) was that he didn't look at all sure of what he was doing after taking that punch.
 
i dunno when they did a replay it looked like after he hit the ground he watched fedor come in and throw another punch and covered his head up to protect himself,

i mean if anyone gets dropped it takes a second while your stunned to get back going and i dont think big john let him..

i smell conspiracy..strikeforce couldnt afford to let fedor lose
 
i agree it should have gone on a few more seconds.
i dont think it would have changed the outcome, but you need to let the fights finish.

Fedor again showed the world why he is the baddest fighter on the planet. Not Kimbo, not Shogun, not Chuck Lidelll..... Fedor fuckin Emelianenko. He took a quick jab in the opening seconds and it didn't even phase him. He's like impervious to pain or something.

What I like about him, is even when Rogers was on top of him bringing down punches, Fedor was looking for just the right one to grab onto and twist around into a kamora arm lock. When he sunk it in, Rogers slipped out and Fedor grabbed another arm instantly and went for the arm bar.

That's awesome.

In the face of taking head shots, he has the presence to go for 2 back-to-back submissions to tap Rogers out. And, just look at how Fedor swings! On the couple shots he wildly missed, he was trying to knock Brett's head into the stratosphere. When he does connect, we all see what happens.

There's just nobody who can hang with him. Not Noguiera, not Frank Muir, not Couture, not Carwin, and certainly most definitely not Brock Lesnar. Brock is a cumbersome giant, Fedor is a well oiled fighting machine. No contest.
 
To get an idea of how good of a MMA fighter Fedor is - search around on youtube and watch Fedor vs. Mark Coleman and Fedor vs. Kevin Randelman. These are olympic world class wrestlers, the best in the world and Fedor man-handled them.

Coleman was on life support after the first 30 seconds, and Randelman tapped out like a gigantic pussy.
