Fear of rolling again!!!

Hi.

OK guys I have a serious problem and only you can help me, I know you can since you guys already did, a lot! Thank you! Now heres the thing. I started rolling 2 years ago. Before I started rolling I asked questions, questions that needed to be answered. Questions such as oh will i die, or will something bad happen to me, or will i dehydrate and so on. My friends told me nothing will happen to you as long as you drink water the proper way while you roll. So I said to myself oh OK i can manage that. And so i rolled, rolled and rolled and rolled....... for 2 years. Never had any problems, all rolls were clean, and amazing, never had any problems with drinking water, no negative effects. So now I haven't rolled for seven months and I'm planing to roll in September. Now since I haven't rolled for long I'm afraid that I might do something wrong, either drink to much or not enough. Whenever I rolled I don't remember how I was drinking, I don't remember how often. I'm very paranoid about this.

I need to know how I should drink during my roll. Since I have anxiety and panic attacks, and paranoia its difficult for me to decide how much to drink and how often. I'm paranoid about not drinking enough, and at the same time if I drink too much, paranoia, fear.

The pills that I get are mostly clean according to my testing kit. If i pop one pill and in an hour i pop another one and so on, how much should i drink??? How many cups in an hour???

If you are dancing, try to drink more. Drink maybe a cup of water every hour, if that. Less if you're not really active, dancing, ect. If your urine is clear, you're solid and you are well hydrated.
 
A 1 liter bottle of water should be satisfactory for a roll.
Just keep it in the area and just think to take sips every so often.

Don't over think drinking water. I have not drank anything for many rolls and have been just fine.
You would have to be sweating bullets for hours in order to dehydrate yourself to the point of doing damage.
 
Panic attacks are something I've suffered from a few times on the come-up on MDMA, and it's apparently not uncommon, so I also fear for you that obsessing over water consumption may result in that too...

My suggestion is that not taking it too far (don't take too much MDMA) will solve a lot of your problem- if you are "with it" enough to monitor how fast you drink water, and you're not rolling so hard you feel extreme thirst, you don't run the risk of over doing it.

Keep in mind, the amount of people that make the decision to roll in a place where they don't have access to more water is HIGH (over packed events, low end raves), and these people are packed in with tons of strangers, sweating, rolling their balls off....and they survive. It's obviously a BAD position to be in, but for peace of mind, keep in mind thousands of people do it and live....

In terms of over-hydrating, just make it a general rule to sip and not guzzle. Pay attention to your body as best you can, and take note, but don't stress out too much.

Also, do a lot of reading on MDMA and get more info on water intake and dehydration so you feel more informed....
 
I'm not a raver, whenever i do E i just escape in my own mind, im not active on it. but i do walk around alot on E, or just sit with my eyes closed and listen to trance. As for Panic attacks i think they are gone , usually i would get panic attacks everyday, but the last 2 weeks were panic attack free. thank you
 
Its very simple............If your feeling thirsty then have a few mouythfuls just like you would when your not rolling.
 
Yeah man, try not thinking about water levels and all that stuff. That will just make things more stressful. Like MazDan said, just focus on having a sip when you're feeling thirsty. Seriously, even if you are semi-reasonable, you'll almost certainly be just fine.

Try and think of the positive aspects of rolling, like how much fun you'll have, how awesome it will be to be around people who you are close to, how awesome the music will sound. That kind of stuff. Or just focus on the part that once the MDMA hits you, all your pre-roll anxiety will melt away.

for me if im really dehydrated or my sugar is low from the e i have to drink something or else i either get sick to my stomach when i have low sugar or i start having a really bad trip if my water bottle isnt bein sipped from every now and then get like iced tea and sip that stay safe rolling is fun but bad vibes and trips are terrible.
 
Every time i have rolled it has been at a rave and im basically moving around giving light shows the whole entire night. Sometimes i do skip drinking water for like 2 hours at a time and my mouth will get dry and such and i will know when to take another sip or gulp. Your body will tell you when you need more water, but usually i will take little sips every 30 min or so. Don't stress the water factor, you'll be fine.
 
I always just keep a bottle of water in my back pocket when at a rave, and just take a swig from it maybe once every 15-20 minutes or so. Fill it up in the bathroom when its empty (fuck paying $5-6 for a bottle of water every time I need more :X) and I'm set.
 
an often quoted rule of thumb is to drink 1/2 litre of water per hour dancing.

but if you just drink when you are thirsty you will be alright. don't put off drinking when you're thirsty just because the music is soooo goood right now ;)
being a bit dehydrated isn't that dangerous, but can make the comedown much worse.

a more important thing to be careful about is not dancing the whole night but making pauses every now and then, preferably in a cool area. that's especially important if you roll in a hot club.
 
If you have a history of anxiety, panic attacks and paranoia and you're going to take E then your paranoia and fear is completely justified. The reasons you should be afraid aren't about dying or drinking enough water. Your fears should be about the high potential for long-term pain that you will trade for short-term pleasure.

Taking MDMA or street E has a strong likelihood of worsening your symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks and paranoia, especially during the come down phase and perhaps extending for a lingering period of time that may be days, weeks or months.
 
^^Good for you man :) Seriously. I used to cringe reading most of your posts because you talked about rolling so carelessly. Glad to see your learning to take it easy, even if it came at a price. Harsh comedowns can be a valuable lesson.

EDC will be much more enjoyable if you wait untill then. I'll be there rolling my face off too :D Been almost two months since my last roll.
