Hello everyone. I am new to blue light, so a big thanks in advance for reading. So I take Subutex. And I have this fear I will walk into my next appmnt, and the doc will cut me off. I don't do anything I shouldn't (no opiates, benzo that is RXd and weed is in my piss, I take the sub's the right way, and always on time for my appointment) He has no clue who I am, just writes for my script. Which is okay because I've been taking Bupe for 6 years. So I know what I'm doing more than he does. I'm just so worried, and I think it's because I want to be on sub's for at least 5 more years. I wait 2 days to dose my bupe so I don't waste it. And I don't really mind mild withdrawals. Also my old Dr who would write for 3 sub's a day.. And three Valium got shut down by the DE A, that wasn't fun. So can my Doc just randomly cut me off?? I'm a good patient I pay the cash, and they just ask if I'm okay, any concerns blah blah.. And that's it. He's a very well respected DR in the community as well. Am I overreacting???

I don't know man, just come off as a good guy and he'll probably keep writing. My psych practice drug tests me a lot so stay away from the illegal stuff.
Cheers!

Welcome to Bluelight !
If your tests are drug free aside from the subs I see no reason why you would be cut off. I sometimes have irrational fears due to my past that come into my present life as if the other shoe is going to drop, and it doesn't. It's just my thinking…. I think you'll be okay. :)

I also joined BL at a time I was suffering from anxiety that my doctor would cut me off. I go to a pain management clinic, since my original prescribing PCP was under investigation by the DEA and prohibited from prescribing scheduled drugs. The PM clinic I attend has a big turnover in doctors, and I often feat they will be shut down I came to BL for support in tapering down on my oxycodone, so that I would not have a terrible withdrawal if cut off. So far, no changes at the clinic, thank goodness, as my taper is more successful at some times than others, depending on my level of pain and physical activity.

Thank you all for replying!!! The thing is, I do smoke. I know I shouldn't... But its better than scoring H or 30's. I see him again next Monday, hopefully this justvkeeps going. I'm just not ready to get off. Also... I wait like 40+ hours to dose, because it keeps my tolerance low and I don't like wasting meds. Is there anything wrong with this??

It would be irresponsible for your doctor to just cut you off but there have been stories to this effect. If he wants to stop prescribing it to you then you should make a case for him to assist in a taper at the very least.

I was interested to read that you want to be on Subutex for another five years. What are your reasons for taking Subutex and how much do you take every two days?
