It's about time. Putting APAP in opiates is senseless. Chances are if you have pain requiring you to take a opiate acetaminophen isint going to do shit. The only place acetaminophen would have with a opiate would be with codeine in tylenol#3's or #4's. But then again the doctor could just give you the 30mg codeine phosphate pills and tell you to take some APAP along with it. Or better yet ibuprofen since that actually works on pain unlike shitty acetaminophen which is only good for fevers and in combo with ibuprofen if the advil does not kill the headache by itself. Putting it in with oxycodone is stupid and just fucks up peoples livers needlesly.
Since i live in Canada this won't affect me and hell we don't even have vicodin or loratab or norcos here since hydrocodone is only approved for coughs not pain here. We do have percocets, tylenol 3's and 4's, fioricet, mep 282's, and robaxacet-c's all of which contain around 300-325mg's of acetaminophen per pill. I think some of them might have abit more APAP in them but usually it's 300-325mg's.
I really would like them to take the APAP out of percocets though because some stupid docs won't script oxy IR's but will script percocets which in Canada only have a lousey 5mg's of oxycodone in them. So unless your a baby you have to take 2 of the things anyway.
