FDA: Reformulated OxyContin Might Have 'Advantage'

of course they want to reformulate it (not hard) so it has less abuse potential, patent it, sell it at a higher price and make 20 years worth and steady income.

All in the name of reducing drug abuse:\

Anyone know when these are supposed to be released? Also do you guys think there will be a way to get around the mechanism?

Someone posted a pdf, released by Purdue, where they tested different methods to get around the reformulation. They don't tell you exactly which methods they used, especially when they were talking about different solvents, but some produced good results.

It's just a matter of time before someone figures out how to beat them.

Heard they were reformulating it with Capsaicin (as in the component in chilli peppers), harmless when swallowed but OUCH OUCH OUCH when injected.

Regardless of opinions on whether this is good or not always seemed the most EFFECTIVE and obvious potential method?!

bring it on, it's just like a puzzle or riddle to me. entertaining to solve but the getting high if you figure it out is added incentive that makes it a billion times better than a rubik's cube.

I wonder if the gel would just clog the shit out of a micron filter or not. Anyone ever try with a generic that gels up?

There already out. My guy had a bunch, and OC 40's. I of course bought the 40's.

Are they gonna change the 40's or is the TR only gonna be on the 80"S?

They are already out in 20's 40's and 80's. If there is a will there is a way... Trust that there is a will! It's only a matter of time till we crack the new ones...

The prices of all IR Oxycodone pills are about to skyrocket then. I personally can't wait to see what they look like , as well as experiment a little with them a little. I was under the assumption that the 10's 20's and 40's were going to make the switch first, but I guess not if you really saw them. Did you actually ingest it and notice any delayed effects?

Does this affect the actual area where Purdue is ? ie Canada ? Cos the oxy I see is normal CDN imprint ones.

Yeah, I have CDN imprint ones (I'm in Canada). They don't crush up well at all but that's okay for me because I just dose orally using liquid measurment.

One CDN 80 is good for 16 doses to me. I just dissolve the stuff and fine as I can get it in a 10mg/mL solution of 95% ethanol. Eventually the ethanol reduces it all the teeny particles which is just binders. From there I can just measure out my dose; dissolve it in a little water and swallow.

Not a good idea to inject 95% ethanol though. Sorry IV users; still works fine for IR oral use. :)

I chose IR over the new ones...they are very similar except a little larger and the lettering is different. Didnt get to inspect them too good, Im a fan of IR anyway.

I got an old OC80 from a friend today. Was lucky since he's got a bunch left but I'm sure his next refill will be OP80s
