Favorite Psych for Different Times of Day/Weather Conditions

So the day vs. night tripping thread got me thinking about how different psychedelics jived with different times of day/weather conditions, and I wrote up a list of my preferences.

Daytime, Sunny: LSD. Hands down. Especially in the great outdoors. Something about the raw, bubbly eagerness of clean acid meshes wonderfully with the daylight and heat of the mid-afternoon sun. And swimming, oh my. :D

Runner up: AMT. And it's a very close second. The thing is, I enjoy the energy and glow of AMT pretty much any time of the day/night, and so the synergy with sunlight doesn't seem as unique/serendipitous as it does in the case of LSD.

Daytime, Rainy/Stormy: 2C-E. There's something very "gray" about 2C-E's personality–though certainly not its visuals–that goes perfectly with an all-day rainstorm. This combination has produced some of my most contemplative, cathartic trips emotionally.

Sunrise/Sunset: DOM. The palette of colors DOM works with puts all others to shame. Watching a sunrise or sunset while at or near the peak of a DOM trip is nothing short of a religious experience. Bierstadt paintings ain't this beautiful, people. Whew.

Nighttime, Clear: Mushies! They're so alien and bizarre. Taking mushrooms at night makes my brain go "WHOA!!" pretty durn reliably. On no other substance at no other time of day is it so easy to get completely and utterly lost in my own neighborhood or in my own head. I laugh just thinking about it. =D

Nighttime, Stormy, in the Desert: Mescaline. I think this one sort of speaks for itself... 8o

What about you guys? C'mon, I'm curious and bedridden here! Fascinate me. :)
 
Ok well since you are bedridden I shall humor you :)

You and me get a hi-five on 2c-e and storms. Dude I witnessed the most epic thunderstorm on a 25mg 2C-E trip that was the best 2c-e trip I had personally. Just incredible. I watched my trees get out of the ground and walk around my yard, while deer shot through it, and thunder lightning and a downpour ensued. Just epic.

Daytime, honestly I havent tried a ton of drugs during the day. I always liked DiPT smoking in the day with a friend. Hearing the sounds of a normal day in a new tone was interesting. Traffic changes, people sound different, its layered somehow. And the visual aspects are cool, but subtle.

Nighttime though my hi five goes to DXM. Nothing better than a pitch black room, 600mg of Dexter, and all night to myself. Best nights ever. In the darkness, it opens up possibilities. I've been inside the mainframe of the TRON world, I've been in a shoebox floating through space, and I've flown through underground caves with waterfalls..


Since I'm in Peru, I'll have to try your Mescaline in the desert. I'm by a desert, and San Pedro grows basically everywhere here lol.
 
i've enjoyed most of my 2ce at night time during the winter
it was pretty sweet when it was snowing hard and i'd go for a walk at like 1 AM

looking up the clouds and the lights (can't see the stars too good anymore) is so awesome
and taking in a deep cold breath feels like it takes me back to my childhood

i feel "sneaky" on 2ce and b
 
The only preference I have weather wise is 2c-e in the winter. I've always felt that the visuals of 2c-e are cold/frosty and electric if that makes any sense. Being outside in the frozen nature on 2c-e is quite an experience.
 
i agree with delsymfan, nighttime always reminds me of dxm trips of my teen years... and i might be hitting you up for details on peru, i'm visiting there in a year or so and need to know where to get good psychs

well said
for me it it always went great in the winter at night.
the last trip i took it rained really bad in the afternoon, and the evening was cool and refreshing. i walked through the same park that i always go through.

anyways. 2ce at night, in the winter, or during and after a hard rain. maybe 2ce is just great no matter what the weather? i'll always think it's closest to winter nights tho
 
One of my favorite trips was on mushrooms infront of a big window at night during a chaotic lightning storm. There was no rain or loud thunder, just brilliant flashes of light in the sky every two seconds with subtle rumbles in the distance. It was amazing

One time I was also tripping on 2c-i during a tornado. That was pretty intense
 
Tryptamines preferably in not too dark an environment except for DMT which is maybe best done in a protected shaded or sheltered peace, something like a zendo with the lights out or only a candle on. Having said that I wanna do it sometime in the basking sun and be entirely absorbed in it.
2C's work well at night, acid too. Perhaps especially emotionally sensitisizing psychedelics don't benefit from the dark since the association with dark feelings is made a little too easy that way?
 
LSD: good day or night, it does pretty things to nature either way....Sunny day/ Clear night.

Mushrooms: Daytime, kind of a darker experience for me on average than acid is, so i prefer mushrooms in the day. Fall if a nice time to eat them, the earthy colors go well with it... Sunny day.

2c-b: Rather colorful psych, probably great during the day but i have only night tripped with it....

DOM: pretty much an all day thing, your going to see night and day whether you want to or not while tripping.... Nice weather is preferably, mildly warm.

MDMA: night, its too fucking bright during the day.
 
Oh and waking up however early it will take you to peak at sunrise on whatever substance...

like dropping acid at 4am, and tripping till noon... its quite nice because you can just go on about your day in the afternoon.... Watching the sun rise is a must...
 
For most psychedelics I prefer to trip outside in the daytime so I can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and feel the sun on my face. Perfect setting for a great trip IMO. Just puts me in an amazing mood.

Actually, what I usually do is time my dosing so that I am still peaking when the sun sets. This way you get the best of both worlds and you get to see an amazing sunset.

Mostly I think it just comes down to preference but there are certain drugs that I believe work best at night: dissociatives. With drugs like ketamine or DXM it is best to just lie down in a dark room and close your eyes.
 
i think 2c-b and lsd would be okay during both day and night - however it seems that lsd is easier to find now a days than 2c-b is... is the process of making 2c-i a lot different than 2c-b did they outlaw something needed to make 2c-b ? or is it the same stuff to make 2c-i? seems so weird that so many people dont even know what 2c-b is but have "eaten sheets of lsd before" blows my mind!

One of my favorite/most memorable weather-related trips was taking 4-AcO-DMT during a crazy hurricane that happened last September. It was my first day back at college after summer break, and my friends and I decided to trip (it was pretty much everyone's first time except for me). Absolutely insane, especially considering that the power went out all over campus. Standing in the hurricane was at once both ridiculous and awe-inspiring.
