Dr. Mario.

Super Mario Bros 1-3

Metroid

But, my all time favorite: Donkey Kong 1&2. Most awesome game ever. pure physical timing and skill in that one.

metroid was my only game, it was gold

but zelda would have being the most memorable and influencial on me

of course mario is there
and i think ill include megaman
music was great in 3 of them

1943 had a great theme music too

The Super Mario Games on the NES are greatest games ever made IMO. They never get old to me. I go back and replay them every few months and always have a good time. The only one I didn't get really into was the second one. That game is hard as hell , but fun nonetheless :)

+1 on punch out
tho ive never beat tyson

btw, you know a game has influence you when 15 years later you look up on the internet to figure out wtf was up with the unfinishable -1 level

The Original Super Mario Brothers, Operation Wolf, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, TC Surf N Skate and any other fucking game with The Game Genie...

The army one where 2 players can run around blasting things & stealing tanks.
FINAL FANTASY!

SHORT ORDER EGGS-PLODE!

Many many more, i literally grew up on NES & played it from 1year old +

its crazy how those Japs made those Nintendos...... here it is, 20 years later, and mine still works, and even after I've dropped the fucker a couple of times, boxed it up and put it on U-hauls at least 4 times, spilt soda on the thing, maybe even hit my brother upside his head with it, and it STILL works

no Xbox will ever work for 20 years goddamnit

As said +1 for Zelda, Tyson, Metroid

I also liked Gauntlet, paperboy, and I believe Star tropics was NES.

But as for Final Fantasy, do not know why but did not really care for first one. But 2,3,7 pwn.

While I haven't really played Megaman 4-6, the first 3 games are absolutely amazing. The music is really good, the level designs are top notch, and the game has a difficulty curve that will make you say "f%*$" more than a few times. Very quality games and highly recommended if you don't mind get more than a little frustrated.

Also of note are the Castlevania games and Ninja Gaiden, both of which are also quite difficult but very mermorable. Battletoads is also very difficult, but really fun and a very well designed game.

As far as mario games go, the lost levels are really fun and quite hard. I find the traps and tricks they use in this game to be very clever and very fun as well.
