So, I've been listening to a lot of stuff from Warp Records, who have really established themselves as a pretty diverse label but still with a quite distinct sound. Who are some of your favourite artists from this label- past or present- and favourite releases?

I've been listening to Bibio who creates a kind of lo-fi mix of folk and electronic. Often with a nostalgic sort of atmosphere...Really love these two tracks from Silver Wilkinson-

Of course, Autechre are another great act- my favourite album is Confield. Very weird music, experimental and unpredictable.

Other great artists are Boards of Canada, Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus, Nightmares on Wax and Gravenhurst.

Please join in. :)

i like pretty much all the artists you listed + clark, PVT, Rustie and Oneohtrix Point Never

this is my fav clark song and it has a nice dystopic end of the world feel to it

and this rustie song is a banger

Mysterie, good cool on Clark. Some good tunes from that dude...

Currently listening to the old Artificial Intelligence series, some seriously great stuff. I really love the simplistic nature of it, the 909's and wonky acid synths....Good shit :)

I am going to have to peruse their back catalogue to jog my memory.

But I do recall buying a lot of imports on CD in the early and mid nineties.

there is a lot to chose from

when I think warp I think of a time

this is from that time:

I love how stripped downed it all is.

:)

Admittedly I'm not that familiar with most of the artists but definitely an Aphex Twin fan. Surprised no one mentioned him.

Aphex of course, Squarepusher, LFO, etc.
But, I guess we're supposed to be impressing each other with little known tid bits?
That 3 disc thing they put out was good. 10 + 1, 10 + 2, 10 + 3.

Autechre stand above all the others on what is an exceptional set of artists, with Draft 7.30 being my fave album. Having said that Squarepusher's Ufabulum album was the best Warp record of recent years. I've seen Flying Lotus to live as well and was very impressed. Boards of Canada are worth a mention and Music has a right to Children is a record everyone should have, but the rest of their stuff is average.

Aphex Twin is great in patches to.
