what about @Mysterier are you a newbie to this or you totally get it and you'll be fine?

and i think we gotta help out @mtu mwendawazimu a little too

so did you guys see what i was saying about point totals?

so keep in mind, in this league, that if your team scores above 200 points, you had a pretty good week - below 200, not too good

and if you're scoring below 200 on a frequent basis, you really need to work on your team

if you're scoring 250 on a frequent basis, you're playing very well

and then defensive players - avoid using Defensive Lineman (DL) and Defensive Ends (DE) in your D spot unless it's somebody like Aaron Donald who can have some monster games at times, but the next game, he'll only get 1 tackle

it's more or less a tackle heavy league - you'll see how the rest of the points score as it goes

injuries - you can stick a player on IR (injured reserve) once he's listed as OUT and then you'll have an open spot to pickup a free agent

practice usually starts on Wednesday if they're playing on Sunday, so that's the day you'll start seeing the Questionable tag, based on whether that player practiced that day - it's fairly normal to see them miss Wednesdays practice, and then they're back on Thursday, so don't panic until Friday, unless you know more

you can find out a lot on Twitter just by searching the players name

there's also https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/

make an account there and you can upload your team from this league and it'll customize for you - of course you can get more if you decide to pay, but you can get by just fine with just the free features they give you - it's kinda nice

it even has "who should i start" feature where you can plug in 2 players and it'll suggest which one for you to start - just look for "who should i start" or you can even google that and it'll take you to fantasypros

also check out https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/ for up to date reports on injuries and just general player updates

I'm more familiar with ESPN and team defense, so the platform and individual difference will be an adjustment.

Good God man... EIGHT defenders?? That's insanity, I don't see any reason to have any more than 5 or 6... That's the most I've ever done really and even that is a bit much to keep up with for most ppl. And differentiating between S's and CB's kinda sucks fr. CBs aren't that much better than DL's and S's are just so much more valuable.

Do 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 DB, and 2-3 D and call it a day imo....
Don't you have to pick a team that's equal to number of players on a regular football team? Sorry if that's a stupid question but I've never played fantasy

Nah you're good. No, it depends on the league but the commissioner sets the roster requirements and you pick based on that.

Starting lineup for a standard league is typically 1 qb, 2 hb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 FLEX (hb, wr, or te) , 1 k, and 1 team defense special teams.

But we are playing individual defensive players, so it's basically that but instead of team defense you pick individual players on D.

Offense is easy to pick good players. But on defense, the best players rankings aren't in order of best to worst. They hide the good players in the mix. A pain.
So scout up a few D's and I'm going to look at last years finish on d players get that list ready.

keep in mind too that if you have the 1st or 12th pick, you're gonna end up picking twice in a row and then sitting for a long time while everybody else picks twice, so you'll have plenty of time to read and make decisions while the draft is going - even if you're picking in the middle, it's 12 teams so you'll have time to flip back and forth - there's a dinger that goes off when it's your turn to pick even if you're looking at another tab, not paying attention

it's 90 seconds a pick and as it gets to the mid rounds is when you tend to have people picking at a slower pace too - taking it to the last 10 seconds - be prepared for this to be a pretty long draft

I’d get a solid offense first. RB QB WR TE. Then some more of those to add depth. Probably round 12 or later I’d start filling D maybe round 10.

Your QB will most likely be your leading scorer. But it’s wise to get a good rb first. Either way if you go dual bosa I might trade with you. @mtu mwendawazimu
