fantasy football 2015/2016 v. not the bl league

fan duel and draft kings are worse than 1-800-call-att commercials

they even have a different promo code every commercial i see

least i can approve of that, that's actually a good marketing feedback strategy so they can figure out when/where to/not to advertise

speaking of fantasy i kind of like my team except i drafted marvin jones (WR bengals) like 6 rounds too early, i don't know what i was thinking, although he did have 10 tds in 2013

i traded le'veon bell for demeryius thomas....no regrets, RBs fall off the face of the earth more common than ever. bell is fantastic but between the 2 game suspension and having to play the NFCW, i can't imagine him scoring more TDs than thomas (who if healthy, is on the field every snap)
hopefully tevin coleman can be my replacement keeper for the next 3-4 years...my other keeper was andrew luck

my top 5 players are luck(cam newton back up), thomas, calvin johnson, tevin coleman and than a probably brian quick being chased by owen daniels, gio bernard, zach ertz, allen hurns, tre mason or tavon austin

i never draft a K, i just pick one up
i happened to pick up the worst option, tampa's kicker who kicked 2 PATs no FGs...i'm going to give him another 2 weeks

i've said it before, i hate what fantasy football has done to football fans
it seems like most people only care about their fantasy team and not their real team
i'd rather hear a fishing story you had in a dream than how your fantasy match up ended(but line up management consulting can be fun with select few)

PROTIP: Don't play any Patriots players against the Bills this week. If you do, it's either Gronk or bust.

This isn't my normal shit-talking before a Bills v. Pats game. And if the game were in NE I wouldn't even bother posting this. But this game is going to be brutal. The coaches, the players, this game means a lot more to them than any non-Bills fan could realize. And while normally that's not even close to enough to win a game, this time they have the talent to back up all that hatred. I expect several significant injuries in this game on both sides.

Thanks for the tip. What about Gostkowski though... I feel like you might see a lot of field goal attempts from New England

Off topic: One thing I can't wait for is when Fanduel or Draftkings goes public... there's been rumors we might see it in 2016. The smartest thing anyone could do is put every penny you possibly can into those stocks.. They will skyrocket over the next 5 years. The growth those dfs sites have seen over the past couple years is incredible.

Fanduel already has investments from Google Capital, NBC Sports, KKR, Time Warner Investments, Comcast Ventures, and few others.

Pats kicker is gold every week no matter what. And like I said I'd be shocked if Gronk doesn't get a TD. The rest of that team is toast on Sunday though. I'm calling it here and you can quote me: Either Amendola or Edelmen are going to be taken out of the game after receiving a bone-crushing hit.

Fantasy football is ridiculously popular and those two sites you mentioned take it a step further because it's more like gambling, which is addictive in itself, than it is like you normal friendly office pool. If either of those go public anytime soon and the valuations are retardedly high, count me in.

And before you call me crazy for predicting injuries to specific players, know that I predicted 2 player-specific major injuries in last year's Chargers v. Bills game due to the matchup, size, and health of the relevant players.

that must be where they get indian ocean sized treasure chests filled with 100s and rare coins to give out to unemployable neck bearded assholes

if you think about it it's really not much different than playing the powerball. just pick 7 numbers and hope they hit

i just hate how draft kings is an official sponsor of MLB and pete rose can't get elected into HoF

you don't think NFL players bet shit loads of money on FF? I guess that's fine(don't get me wrong, just like prostitution, woman beating and take home anesthesiology - gambling should be legal in at least 10 states)

I don't think powerball is a good comparison. Like phr pointed out earlier it's a lot like poker. There is a small percentage of people who always seem to be at the top.. So I definitely think there is skill to it.. Especially when you get into sports like baseball and basketball.. Where statistics actually mean A LOT.. Every baseball team has an analytics team now making decisions for player trades, defensive shifts, lineups, etc.. Look at the NBA and even at the NCAA level... You're seeing a shit ton of new coaches who have minimal coaching experience, but they understand the game and are analytics freaks. You're definitely seeing a lot more analytics guys in football now as well

And tbh I actually think we're not to far away from legalized sports betting in the U.S. Were one of the only countries in the world that can't play online poker or bet on sports(except Nevada). NBA commissioner Adam Silver actually pushed for this last year, saying that sports betting is a multi billion dollar industry that could bring in a lot of tax dollars.. The states aren't getting their piece of the pie as long as it's illegal. He also talked about how sportsbetting is going to happen no matter what, people are still betting with offshore books. I'm hoping wee see it legalized in the next 10-20 years

yahoo said i had the worst draft in my league and i'm predicted to go 1-13.

well, i won my game this week with the highest points total in the league. so i guess i got my sole win out of the way :)

the colts had a bad day but my qb andrew luck just beat his projected total. edelman and jordan matthews had solid outings. but my stars were tyler eifert, chris ivory and the miami defense.

i have some depth too - keenan allen and danny woodhead on my bench and i also grabbed david johnson last week knowing that ellington is made of glass. and he broke already...

roll on week 2.

I don't think powerball
you just don't get it

it's comparable to powerball simply for the extremly slim chances of winning big money/it's bait for impulsive assholes

astros GM is a great example of a fantasy nerd from penn U turned genius big league general manger

and it's okay ali i also recieved a D rating. i always do because i always draft young, i feel like key to winning the league is discovering new talent

plus i have a list of people i refuse to draft simply because i can't root for them

Come on now, after 25 years of sucking ass I deserve better than that. Don't say the Colts had a bad day; say the Bills dominated them on the field.

i was talking from a fantasy perspective but we agree - the bills dominated that game.

i noticed that only one division in football had all 4 teams start off with a win :)

They said I had the 2nd best draft and I was one of the lowest scoring teams due to Peyton's performance.

I don't know about investing in them. It all depends on whether this will stay legal or not, and there's even speculation that these companies are going for a cash grab before the inevitable happens and they're outlawed. But yeah, check it out, it'll put how difficult it is to win into perspective. I think playing on them is fine as long as your goal is entertainment, and you're OK with the more than likely outcome of you losing.

-------------------

I dunno if I should start Buffalo's D this week or not.

I need help in my 10 team non ppr money league. my current wide receiver roster is, Roddy White ATL, Amari Cooper Oakland, Jeremy Maclin KC, James Jones Packers. I think I want to start James Jones and Roddy White but I am not the best at this shit. Any input?

Man that's tough. You have Cooper and Maclin playing against really tough defenses and Roddy White becoming an afterthought in the Falcon's passing game(did you guys see Julio Jones in that game?? He's going to have a HUGE year).

I'd say it's a toss-up between White, Cooper, and Maclin. I think you'd have to leave it up to luck for any of those 3 to get you any more points than the others.

i'd start jones, cooper and maclin.

i have miami defence and, while i expected them to do better against washington, they still scored me 15pts which is solid for a d in fantasy. i'd take that every week.

they're playing jax this week so i'll just let 'em ride.

you have it as D/ST right? because jarvis landry got a punt return TD which was really sweet because I had him and D/ST playing so I got 12 points from the play.

I'm also gonna start them again vs jags because bortles still looks awful and the team i played in my money league had panthers D and was pretty much why i lost, along with Travis Kelce.

my team was 3rd in a 12 team league in points scored but i played the highest scoring team. :(
