fantasy football 2015/2016 v. not the bl league

I sacrificed grabbing an RB until the 4th round so I could grab a top QB and two of the best WRs in the league. Not only was there a big run on RBs early on, but I just think the position is becoming less and less important in the NFL. WRs are going to be where the real points are at. I also switch my Head Coach every week depending on what the NFL lines are.

Have any of you guys made anything playing daily fantasy?
 
I haven't even checked out all those daily fantasy sites. There's so many fucking commercials for them I'm avoiding them out of pure principle.

Seems more like gambling than fantasy. From what I understand you draft a new team every week and basically hope your players have breakout games.

i've made $25 twice playing fantasy golf (masters and us open). so many people play - one time i finished in about 40,000th pl;ace and still made the money :)

but gm is right - daily fantasy is hard. you have to get lucky with at least a player or two who's virtually unheard of but has an monster week. that is definitely more luck than skill...

draft kings has a $3 entry $1,000,000 tourney this week. i drafted:

qb: matt ryan
rb: jeremy hill

wr: jarvis landry
wr: allen robinson
wr: steve smith sr.
te: tyler eifert
flex: danny woodhead
dst: dolphins

if that was my fantasy team this week, i'd be stoked :)

i've been doing the UFC contests on draft kings just the past 2 months and the rewards aren't worth the risk. not even close.

BUT, instead of entering contests, I'd suggest to simply do the challenges, where you challenge one other person and you just have to beat them and you win the same amount you risked.
 
I tried it last season and didn't win anything. I mean I won a few times, but I eventually lost it.

I think it's similar to poker, as there is luck involved but also some skill. I'm not sure what % I'd assign each. It's interesting that just like the top poker ranks, it tends to be the same few guys at the top. Having said that, it's legal in most states because it's seen as a game that requires skill, and not mostly luck like gambling does. Not that lobbying has anything to do with why daily fantasy and regular fantasy is legal...
 
I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to NFL... I just put these lineups together in about 10 minutes lol
If anyone has any tips for me before kickoff I would appreciate it. Am I putting too much faith in Miami's defense?

I just decided to start Phillip Rivers instead of Andrew Luck in my money league. I am either going to be an idiot or a genius. Lucks matchup vs the Bills just worried me. I am pretty sure the SD DET game is going to be a shootout.
 
Smart move imo. I think Luck is going to have one of the worst days statistically of his career so far today. This is the coming out party for Rex's new Bills defense.
 
James Jones waiver wire pickup was sweet.


I also picked up Lockett, so I'm hoping he works out as well.

nice call. I streamed that game and I was impressed with the bills overall. Playoff team for sure but I am not sold you can win a SB with Tyrod but I guess we will see.
