Haha, nothin' wrong with being a "homo band" (whatever that even means!)
What are your friends into, if they hassle you for digging the Smiths?
There are other bands from that era I personally like more, but they certainly have their moments (IMO) - but devoted Smiths fans are generally very devoted - and i gotta respect that.
A guy I play music with is a mad crazy Smiths fanboy - and while i can see why he loves Morrissey - he's just not my cuppa tea suppose.
A methamphetamine/Smiths karaoke night is how I choose to ideally spend my weekends much of the time, and I say in my warm and assured brag no other karaoke regular is able to match with any type of legit competition the frantic gesticulations and fractured dancing and emotive wide eyed facial poses i combine fluidly while romantically crooning the left of the dial 80s Canon to beautiful mich ultra women and their irate Coors light partners. Meth reveals the alchemy of 80s songcraft.
^And... that's the only genre they listen to? What one could lump as 'alternative'? I like those bands too but I also like a great many other genres. Sometimes I just don't get people. Must get real boring only jamming the same few bands day in day out.
