AFAIK there has been several cases of it occuring. Both the chemist and the end users have got all fucked up.
And sadly no, it wasn;t just thrown out. Addicts on the streets continued to buy street dope even though there was a chance it could give them Parkinsons. tragic

The heroine was mainly sold to US, and US authority were thinking that such a high purity heroine could only come from official laboratory and not from undeground synthesis.

Making a 98% heroin product from pure morphine is not much of a feat. Certainly nowhere near the level of sophistication of the other chemists mentioned here.-DG

I tasted some of popcorn's moonshine back around '99 (at least that's who the girl claimed the source was). At 190 proof it went down smoother than Grey Goose vodka. Fucking artist.

People shouldn't jump to judge this man, the Haber process has fed the world for the last 70 years, and anyone taking some judgemental superior position should consider whether you would exist at all without nitrogen fertilisers. Haber is a classic example of science being morally neutral, it is how the science is used or misused that is immoral.
there is a thing called victors justice, if he had been on the winning side then people wouldn't be so critical. indeed who criticizes Einstein and others for vaporizing civilian cities, or the manufacturers and deliverers of the bombs which burnt Dresden to the ground, both clear war crimes as it is a war crime to deliberately target civilians in conflict.
