i have real bad adhd and tend to get very quiet and non-excitable when I take adderall. when I took it years ago I would occasionaly take a 1 hour nap right when it kicked in. This time though I took 25 mg, slept for four hours, woke up, took 10 more mg, slept for an hour, stayed up and felt kinda nice for 3 hours, took 10 more mg, slept for an hour. stayd up for 6 hours, slept for 1.5 hours after I took a multivitamin and fish oil. now (15 hours after last dose) I am completely tweaked with huge dialted pupils and racing thoughts, slight jaw clenchin etc now, all of this I am very used to except I am wondering about my quality of sleep for those 6 hours. I usually am very in tune with my body but it's hard to tell how I rested I am. as in, I want to take 15-20mg for a little euphoria since i slept through any euphoria I may have had the 1st time. I figure worst case scenarion I would go to sleep.

it has been months since I have had any amps of any kind and my usual script (10mg twice a day) usually last me for 2-3 months. I only take them for school but once a month i would take 30-40mg recreationaly. quitting smoking atm so that may add to this anxiety. another oddity, cigarettes are comlpetely vile on aphetamines. completely.

if anyone can give their opinion on the quality of sleep I would appreciate it.

you want us to give our opinion on the quality of sleep you get on amps... that's not a really good question and probably won't give you a good answer,

would the forum ADD give a better answer? and yes, that is my question.

Try putting it there, I'm sure the mods will enjoy the race of which one can close it fastest.

Yea man this question is pretty much a sack of garbage. Why the hell do you want to sleep on amphetamines, and why would people in ADD know anything about that...the quality of sleep you get on amps should be called being awake instead....not tryna be a dick, I'm coming down a little (lot)

what a dick comment. It's very hard for me to articulate what I am talking about considering my extensive history with ADHD and the medications that come with it. I want to understand what is going on in the brain when one is asleep on 20-30mg of adderall. as in, swallow pills, get exhausted when they kick in and sleep for 4 hours. I used to sleep for an hour when I took them years ago but that 4 hour slumber was ridiculous. i think my sleep quality was very poor but I am not sure. 25 hours after my last 10mg dose I my eyes are fully dialted. I wouldn't say they constrict but they never get large until many hours after my dose wears off. when I woke up I was starved, calm and collected. although the paradoxal reaction is fading slowly as it always did. This time it is much more pronounced. I wonder how much of a role environment plays in ADHD type symptoms. just got out of a horrific 12 year relationship and my sleep patterns, drug use and ADHD symptoms improved significantly.

i have no desire to sleep on amphetamines. they always make me drowsy. as does cocaine. the only time I smoked methamphetamine I slept nearly immediately. anyway, I have to find another way to control my (now) minor ADHD symptoms since I start school on monday.

OHHH sorry man. You made it seem pretty much like you were doing it intentionally. and also remember i am coming down hard as fuck right now off mdpv so give me a break. I think you may have such a strong paradoxical reaction that you essentially get reverse amp effects? thats crazy, an amp used as a sleeping pill blows my mind, but for you that could actually be an option eh? take a dose, sleep a bit, then when you have things to do later you are alll amped up. just time it right ? what an odd situation though...

lol that is pretty much exactly how they work. unfortunately there is no timing it right but that would be sweet if there was. It's fairly common for people who have ADHD to get drowsy on amps but they usually knock my ass out 1st that seems quite rare. then I wake with a few hours of calm euphoria followed by 8-40 hours of complete jacked up hell. by the way the dick comment was for the poster above you...

I can't offer a concise answer for your question but I just want to say i've experienced fatigue similar to yours occasionally when I use adderall. Oversleep, melatonin use night prior, or skipping coffee all seem to aggravate tiredness on stimulants. I'm thinking that melatonin disruptions with our circadian rhythm may produce profound fatigue noticeable on stimulants. Is this common or is it just us hahaha?

Amphetamines release dopamine which in recent studies was found to be responsible for regulating sleep patterns. Patients with insomnia are sometimes found to have low levels of dopamine in specific parts of the brain. I know many insomniacs, me being one myself that tend to sleep or have no difficulty sleeping on stimulants.

Here's a recent study that answers your questions:

If you would like more studies try consulting google or let me know if you are having difficulties and ill be happy to provide more.
