Just out of no where, i'll get 2-3 small bumps that look like blemishes. If i mess with em or pop em, its all liquid and then they multiply & leave scars! Takes forever to heal or go away. I'm constantly washing my face day & night & even throughout the day. If I dont pop em, they just stay there, & up to 3 weeks at times until I finally have to pop em, then they multiply. They're like blisters & burn & hurt like hell!! Went to Dr. & they're not cold sores or fever blisters. Dr said to take Benedryl & put vaseline on them. Which is only thing that gives me comfort & makes em feel better. Anyway, for some reason I have this gut feeling that injecting roxi's on a daily basis is what is causing my face to break out with these things!! But not sure. Been doing roxis for 2 yrs, but these blister thingys started bout a year ago. I also read where roxi's release hystomine.. Maybe its an alergic reaction. I dunno but i do know its driving me crazy & effecting my appearance with it happening on my face!! Has anybody heard of this or had this happen? I just need some advice please. Anything would be helpful. & thank you very much for any advice from anyone in advance!!

Is it like cystic acne? I had the same problem from heroin and my doctor prescribed retinol, worked like a charm. Research it then try a dif dr.

if it's acne, it might be because the itch is making you touch, scratch, rub your face excessively.

Yes, it is most likely the roxi, My face breaks out very bad when i do any opiates IV.... it is always clear before i go on my binges, also my nose always starts peeling from scratching it so much.

*edit* I am not sure if the roxi is doing it, or if it breaks out because i am touching my face more, scratching myself constantly, and rubbing my face,.. If you are rubbing/scratching your face alot, try not to as hard as it may be, and get some kind of acne treatment. I did have a friend, she use to egt reallllllly bad acne on her face when she would do roxis, it was so bad im sure it couldnt of been jsut from touching her face, so the roxi might just make it break out regardless, either way, acne treatment may help them go away quicker.

I think the drugs themselves can cause pimples/acne, because I get it from using opioids, especially injecting, and I don't really itch that much or rub my skin, and would get it on other parts of the body from my face and would also get it during withdrawal etc.

Vaseline makes pimples worse, so it surprises me that the doctor suggested that if it was acne.

What the OP has actually sounds a lot like an infection such as impetigo. If you look it up you will find all sorts of gory photos, but those are the worst case scenarios and it is very common for people to get it lese severely. I found I would get it quite often when I was injecting drugs. Touching it definitely makes it worse. If you pop the blister/pimple things they will spread and more will grow. Don't touch them, pick at them or pop them, keep your face clean, and ask the doctor for a special cream that should help. The vaseline might help a bit, especially if any are raw or scabby.

Here are some photos, but bear in mind a person can have a much smaller or less noticeable patch than this:

It seems to like moist areas such as near the mouth or nose, and once you get it it will often come back in the same place. It is a bacterial infection, often caused by such bacteria as staphylococcus or streptococcus. Usually it is treated with a prescription medicated ointment. Personally I found it would still take a long time to heal. Really important to not touch it. Ask your doctor if this might be what you have.

I think why it is more common in drug users is that opioids depress your immune system, and on top of that you may also be more likely to touch or scratch your face, or pop pimples if you have them. But really it's a very common skin disease in the general population as well. I haven't gotten it since I stopped injecting drugs though.

look into getting a non-drying soap fash/body scrub such as cetaphil, twice daily. i have similar breakouts (am a heavy opiate user) and symptoms you describe. along with the cetaphil wash i wash the infected areas (acne cysts) with an anti-septic such as detol or isocol alcohol rubbing lotion and it contains the breakouts, lessening the whitehead build up and inflammation and itching.

avoid picking at and bursting them at all costs as it only increases the breakouts. making sure you have clean hair as well which lesens greasy buildups for when you accidentally come in contact and find yourself rubbing said areas.

1) why on earth would you IV roxis ?

2) wash your face twice a day no more no less. use a cleanser ( sialic acid ), benzoyl peroxide, and a moisturizer.

3) dont think opates cause acne. pretty sure thats only stims that do that

^whats wrong with IVing roxys? (besides the fact shooting pills are dangerous, as with any street drug too) Roxy's are the purest form of oxycodone next to the original OCs which are hard to come by, plus you dont have to worry about licking the coating off of an oxycontin, and crushing fine, roxy's dont leave much left over when mixed with water, very small potent pills with high doses of oxycodone. they are worth banging when it comes to pills. maybe dehydration causes acne from opiates? i know when really high on opiates i get very thirsty, i can drink a whole pitcher of kool aid within 15mins, and want more, but at times i cant get liquids??? maybe thats why?

IV oxycodone is just plain dumb. Oral is by far a Superior route. Heres the Pros of each

Oral
- last considerably longer
- much safer
- no tracks or other IV complicatons
- can be done anywhere ( dont need a rig,water,etc )

IV
- 10-15% rise in bioavailability

thats the ONLY advantage. and that miniscule rise is not worth it.

and i dont think opiates cause dehydration but rather cotton mouth. but yes drinking large amounts of WATER will help you acne. It will help your kidneys and liver filter waste.

^some people like the intense and VERY SHORT LIVED rush Iving oxy provides, followed by a 2hr "buzz/glow" after. you got a point. what is the oral BA of oxycodone anyway out of curiousity? if IV isnt much more higher, than i guess it isnt worth it, unless chasing the intense rush, which i lost my appetite for years ago, its nice now and then to do it, but if the oral BA is almost no diff. then IV BA, ill go oral

IV Roxys or any water soluble opiate can and will indeed cause an imbalance in hormone levels, the root cause of your acne. Also contributing to the fact of appearance of acne ( or any breakout that resembles it) is the bodies way up expelling the build up of toxins in your system/bloodstream. At my peak was up to an average of 12-18 30mg Roxys/daily and noticed while i was heavily induced and addicted to these life sucking wonder pills my skin would be blotchy, at some points I would break out, and under normal circumstances I would have mostly clear skin. Therefore, indeed, I can guarantee (unless you have an hormonal imbalance to begin with) if you give the IV roxys a break you will notice your skin start to clear up as well over the course of 2-3 weeks should be mostly clear and can see results in as little as a week, depending on how hydrated you are. Remember to always drink a bunch of water, and stay away from sugars. Peace and good luck to you!

I also IV roxies. Just wanted to add that im sick of ppl talking about how oral>IV with oxy. We're addicted and want our fix now. IV roa provides that. Leave it alone
