I pride myself on the fact that for the majority of my life I have enjoyed an
ever-exciting lack of security.
A secure man opts to settle down into a boring, but comfortable rut in which his future offers naught but an extension of his mind-numbing present. He risks little, but as a result gains little. This man floats through his time on earth riding a current of listless, prosaic predictability, and gets robbed of the benefits and stimulation of blazing ahead through the rapids of a more capricious life. The other, and to me, more enticing approach leads a man to stand at the abyss and choose the mysterious, regardless of the consequences. With the latter, one can truly live, instead of merely exist. Keep in mind, though, a man who acts obscene and outlandishly in order to receive fame and notoriety, simply with the intention of leaving a legacy for himself, lives a trite and meaningless life. The desire to become well known purely for the sake of recognition transforms an already shallow person into a nauseating attention-seeking whore.

This one was really good reading. You formulate Your perceived experience of the subject very well. Thank You for sharing this Hydrocondor!

Likes that part :)
Peace!

Thanks Tom, glad you liked it. Originally, this paragraph was actually an intro to the other essay I posted, titled "A funny thing happened on the way to canada", but I think it stands alright on its own.
