Not on a train, sadly.
This was probably asked before but frankly I don't feel like searching :p

I quit Tramadol 2 weeks ago. Ever since then, I've been eating like a pig.

Basically, I feel hungry 24/7.

I gained 4.5kg in a single week!!!

This is good as I need to put on some meat (i'll be starting work out soon), but I am worried about the intensity with which I crave food. Like right now... I know I am full, but I am craving more food. I know that if I eat more I'll probably feel sick, and yet I want to...

Is this normal?

Could it be complicated by the fact that for most of last year I lived in a country where I hated the food and now I'm back home and surrounded by all the food I love?

p.s. I believe negro pointed out that opiate withdrawal causes a spike in Testosterone. I have found this to be true with benzo w/d, and now it seems to be starting after I finished opiate w/d. I intend to take advantage of this and use the bowflex kinda thingy in my parents' basement ;)

i know nothing about opiates, but if I were you id hammer the weights and get big in a short amount of time :)

hmm, a moderator who isnt using the search feature...

anyway, i put on a good ten pounds after opiate withdrawal, probably cause when i was using heroin daily food just didnt taste as good, and i never really craved anything (aside from more dope). when i stopped i suddenly had the desire to 'taste' food again. not sure if this applies to your situation though.

I've always gotten a huge appetite when I got over the withdrawls too. I think alot of it has to do with you being malnourished because of going through the WD. Eat up my brother it's good to get some weight on yeah after what you just went through. Congratulations on sticking with your detox and breaking free from your opiate habit :D

Tramadol has some affinity for the NET, and by consequence, is a weak NE reuptake inhibitor. Withdrawal from a NE reuptake inhibitor would likely include increased appetite.

I have certainly never experienced increased appetite from any stage of opioid withdrawal, but I have never taken tramadol to excess...

I agree about the weights. Ride this things dude and gain back lean weight. If you don't do anything strength training wise you'll just end up filling up your fat reserves. There's no reason (ie benefit) for a male in our society to be overweight. None at all.

lol OK, Jammy are you a closet sumo wrestler? :D

How are things going the last few days Jam?
