Extraction of sulfoguaiacolum from Codeine

Can i extract the Codeine from this product. The product in combination with the codeine is sulfoguaiacolum (something that encourages mucus development i believe)

Will these two products seperate during cold water extraction?

Thats a good question and I know not much information is available on Sulfoguaiacol. I think it would probably be at least slightly soluble and the cold water extraction might help a bit. How much, i'm not sure, and ill be interested to see if anyone has a for-sure answer.

its an antibiotic (a salt of ampicillin) but its not in my pdr and a search provided very little info, it may have different solubilities than ampicillin which is very soluble in water and the cold water thing would not work, I'm sorry but I'm terribly informed on opiate chemistry but shouldnt an a/b do the trick?

ok good news, well first of all I can only find info on the sodium salt, but if what you have has similar solubilities, and it should, its insoluble in alcohol, ether, and fixed oils, so give me a few and I'll have a procedure for you

crush pills to fine powder
disolve in minimal amount af water
put an amount of sodium carbonate(washing soda) a little greater than the pill mass into a minimal amount of water
you should have two solutions, both fully disolved(may be some shit binders that wont disolve from the pills, mix the two solutions , add 1/2 volume of ether or chloroform, shake shake shake, shake your booty, drain the lower water layer, replace the water layer with a 20% solution of phosphoric acid(I guess any acid will do, vinegar or muriatic being easy to aquire but I'm not totally sure if it will work), shake shake shake, shake your booty, drain the water layer into a pyrex dish and let the water evaporate, you should now have codeine phosphate(or HCl) or whatever depending on the acid


if codeine is soluble in alcohol(and I'm too tired to look right now) then you could just crush the pills, soak in an excess of alcohol, stir, shake, whatever, then filter out the solids, evap the alky to get your codeine

warninbg though, this specific salt you have may possibly be different than the sodium salt rendering this methods useless, but I dont think so

People like you are why Bluelight is so good. Thanks for finding this out for me, much appreciated. I will start with a small amount to see if it works with this salt.

I would obviously like to know if codeine is soluble in alcohol, because that would make the process a lot simpler. I tried googling this but i couldn't find anything.

another thing, can i just use an oil instead of ether or chloroform?

no, but you can use something like toluene, xylene, coleman's fluid, they are found in hardware stores in the paint section


that pill extraction is a variation of one I found somewhere last night, apologies for not listing the originalr author and now I cant remember who or where the material I referenced was, thats a pretty rough draft I did, I overdid the amounts of stuff to make sure there is enough but you could probably get a lot better yield by tweekling the amounts and materials used after experimentation
