Extracting smokeable opium

Hi,

I have some ground up poppies and stems, which i´d like to process to smokeable opium. I know that just drinking tea will likely be more efficient, but i want to try it simply out of curiosity. So i´ve tried to find a decent formula, what wasnt/isnt easy, as it seems that there are thousand ways to do it. Here is how i want to do it:

My plan is to just boil the powder with a relative small amount of water (so i dont end up with two litres) for 15 minutes and then filter it through a sieve or cloth. In the poppies the alkaloids are in the form of meconates, which should be easily soluble in hot water, if I´m correct. I repeat this step one or two times to get all the alkaloids in solution. Then the solution is cooled down, so that a fat layer on the top appears. To remove this the extract is filtered through a cloth or coffee filter. Then it will be heated and boiled down untill almost all the liquid has evaporated. The last step is to pour the boiled down solution on a plate and let it dry at room temperature.
Some people say that the alkaloids degrade when you boil the solution. Is this correct? Shouldn´t the alkaloids be stable as long as you dont burn the opium (to prevent this dry the sludge at room temp)?

Is the obtained opium (technically) smokeable? Or do i need to get the alkaloids in to the freebase form?

Has someone here tried to extract opium from poppies? Do you think it will work the way i planned it?

Make multiple extractions from that one batch of poppies and freebase the opiates out of solution...

This is most efficient.

If you don’t, you end up with a gunky mess that is just not anywhere near potent as actual opium...

It’s too easy...

Anything he gets out of this is going to be more valuable than any bundle he can get off the street.

Most likely he will have to freebase the heroin anyway to properly smoke it.

And with all this ground up opium, why not just get it to a more usable form?

Thank you. So you dont think that the alkaloids degrade when boiling down the solution? And will the defatting work like i think?

Oh, and i only intend to extract opium. Sadly i dont have access to acetic anhydride.

Don’t ever boil opiates, you will destroy them.

Just get you some janitorial 10% ammonia and freebase the opiates out of solution, then dry it out, all the way and vaporize the opiates...

It’s a win-win... Nothing really lost and a very good high gained.

Perfectly said... There is nothing wrong with your typing.

That is exactly what I mean. this process is going to yield the most smokable product. Don’t go over-highten the pH you run the risk of destroying your product... Get it to 9 pH and you are golden...
