Haven't had any experience with synthesis yet, teaching myself organic chemistry first so I can get everything perfect and experiment more with it. Searching for it gave me this though, perhaps it's helpful?

Well what dg420 says is universal advice for these plant sources but the difference can be that Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark is an example of a source that does not contain significant amounts of plant fats that need to be removed by defatting.
You should be able to find out from literature (or forums) and otherwise personal experience as you go along if your plant source is particularly fatty.

There is a subthread in there on different teks but honestly you should be able to google a number of teks hosted mostly on other fora, using terms like 'DMT acid base extraction tek'. I seem to remember that Noman's tek was as good a place to start as any. Combine some teks to finetune the procedure and quantities.
