So I’m taking my dose of belbucca now at 2100 it’s 400mcg if I take a 325mcg dose after midnight would that possibly be to much or unsafe? My pain level is up due to a front coming in. Thanks!

I’m sorry that I can’t help you with that question but do you know anything about cutting them in half? I know on the packaging it says do not cut but I haven’t seen anything else about cutting them ( actual experiences). I have a few 650mcg films and i would rather try half that dosage. I’m not opiate naive at all, right now I’m taking 30-40mg of hydrocodone and in the past I’ve taken a lot of different opiates. Thanks for any feedback at all.

Unsafe wouldn't be the word. It would be a freak accident for someone in decent health to tolerate 400mcg Buprenorphine no problem only to be killed by the same dose a few hours later. Buprenorphine, due to its unique pharmacology, is pretty difficult to overdose on as a single drug. It can happen, though it is rare.

The situation changes if and when other Central Nervous System/CNS Depressants are introduced. When multiple CNS Depressants from different classes are ingested simultaneously, it tends to increase the potency of effects exponentially for all drugs.

Before Fentanyl, the majority of Opioid overdoses involved at least one other CNS depressant. It could be stated that overdose from Heroin as a single agent by an experienced user was a fluke. Again, it happened of course, but it was not the norm.

If you're drinking or using other depressants, then you need to be careful. If not, you can disregard all of this.

Your biggest concern is keeping your Opioid use in control. If you don't have the medication to cover it, or you're gonna run out early at the end of the month, I wouldn't do it. Even if you're in pain, it will bite you in the ass later. It can be a slippery slope with an extra dose here and an extra dose there.

I'm not trying to patronize you. I hope this helps.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. I just have to bite the bullet until my next dose. I definitely don’t want my parents to find me OD and use my narcan. Thank you.
