Technical Problem Extension not allowed

I am trying to upload video in private message and it upload but then it says video extension not allowed why is this happening

Have you tried clearing the cache of your browser? Then re-open and try again? Check the ''Approved sites'' box.

what file extension does it have?

are you trying to attach (upload) the file, or simply link to it from elsewhere? We turned off attachments recently.
