I think the point she was making is that we all have the ability to choose which forums we participate in. Individuals should be able to show restraint. If they can't handle certain topics, then don't click on them. Like you just said.

It goes for threads like this, or threads in CEPs, or anywhere...

Are we going to restrict every other forum to only drug related topics? Only music that involves drugs? Only films that involve drugs? Philosophy? LAVA? Etc? Why not give people more choices and more options tailored to their own needs rather than being so draconian?

those aren't really the same thing. like 90% of the conflicts here spring up due to political disagreements, and then they become personal, etc. None of that would happen if we just didn't deal with those topics here. lava, music, sports, are all valid forums that help build a more supportive and active community, ceps aint that. Even the suggestion that staff is purging shit or censoring certain views is political in nature. this would not be a problem if we didn't deal with all that extra, and everyone didn't have a persecution complex. both sides of the political spectrum engage in this, and i got no time for it personally.

I don't really care either way, I'm not married to removing ceps and i never have been. i can see an argument for keeping it, and for removing it. but, a bunch of people have suggested removing it recently, so i think its worth discussing here, this is all the same conversation.
 
Just don't give permission to the ones who make it personal.

Like, if someone says "you enjoy watching brown children die". Kick those types of people out.

Let the adults talk about it. It's not hurting anyone if the people who don't like it can't see. Idk how else to say it tbh.

Yeah, I mean I do agree with the approach of just making it opt in. It's the one thing that people are gonna swing wildly different directions about, some people enjoy reading that stuff, and it pisses some people off.

Can someone illuminate me please. What is CEPS/ CEP ?

And there is a saying about 2 topics not worth talking about;
Politic s & Religion. Maybe Sexual Preference is also one ?
That when not in a way related to drugs and harm reduction.
Should be avoided. Just a thought your open to criticise it.
